Discussion Daily General Discussion and Advice Thread - April 05, 2025

Have a general question? Want to offer some commentary on markets? Maybe you would just like to throw out a neat fact that doesn't warrant a self post? Feel free to post here!

If your question is "I have $10,000, what do I do?" or other "advice for my personal situation" questions, you should include relevant information, such as the following:

* How old are you? What country do you live in?

* Are you employed/making income? How much?

* What are your objectives with this money? (Buy a house? Retirement savings?)

* What is your time horizon? Do you need this money next month? Next 20yrs?

* What is your risk tolerance? (Do you mind risking it at blackjack or do you need to know its 100% safe?)

* What are you current holdings? (Do you already have exposure to specific funds and sectors? Any other assets?)

* Any big debts (include interest rate) or expenses?

* And any other relevant financial information will be useful to give you a proper answer. .

Be aware that these answers are just opinions of Redditors and should be used as a starting point for your research. You should strongly consider seeing a registered investment adviser if you need professional support before making any financial decisions!

My guess is some calm Mon and Tues waiting to see if Trump walks back any of the tariffs before the 9th. If he does not there will be another leg down (maybe SPY 450).

There used to be a website where it possible to research funds for social responsibility but I can’t remember the name of it. Anyone know what I am thinking of?

You could the ticker symbol in and it would come back a grade of sorts based on what funds were held.

Hi guys, i'm new to investing I'm only 20 years old and i started investing about 3-4 months ago. nothing major. but i've been buying the dip in small amounts. I obviously don't have that much to invest being in college and all that but don't wanna lose the opportunity. so i'm thinking of buying in small amounts. I'm currently invested in NVDA, TSLA, AAPL, VOO, AMZN and QQQ. again, very small amounts and nothing too much. I have also been DCA about 2-5$ everyday in like three companies. Do you think i'm doing okay? and what more i should do or maybe what not? any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

You have many years of investing. Stay the course, dollar cost average, and invest in low-cost ETFs like VTI and VXUS, or, even simpler, VT. Individual stocks are sexy but usually more volatile. Look up Boglehead investing strategy, and/or join that subreddit. Your are way ahead of where I was at your age. You are doing great.
