Local Sights Proposing This Weekend, Need Help!

Hi all, i am proposing to my girlfriend on Sunday. I had planned a scenic flight around the Olympics. It’s looking like that might fall through with the weather changing.

I’m looking to find something else to do as a backup if the flight falls though.

Does anyone have ideas for another kind of romantic excursion that we can do around the tacoma area?

EDIT: Thank you all so much!!! Even if the plane ride falls through i now have a back log of things to make it a special day for her.

Come to the tape loop workshop Saturday 1-4 at the Swasey branch of the Tacoma public library I’m putting on. We can pre hide the ring in a cassette tape and when your partner takes the tape apart she’ll find it.

Tbh this is probably not the most romantic but it’d be memorable.

Mixtapes are like one of the most romantic things we have tbh

Loop tapes are pretty much the same. Kinda. Sorta. Not really.

Hurricane Ridge. The view is just dumbfounding, the weather changes every fifteen minutes, the drive is lovely.

The access road is washed out, there is a plan in place to fix it but probably won’t be open for months

If you can get to the tulip farms this weekend

Not this. The traffic on the weekends up there is absolutely suicidal. If you want to do do the tulip fields go up during the week.

If you can't go up during the week plan on taking a tour bus from one of the many hub stations out to the major farms.

As a former Skagit County girl ...we fucking hate all of you. We hate tulips. I dug tulips every summer. It can take 4 hours to travel a couple miles on the main roads out near the farms on the weekends.

The weekend activities make it worse. Fun runs, downtown events ... it's hell.

They aren't that pretty.

I’ve heard Curling can be super romantic.

You could do a tour of the trolls, but its not extremely Tacoma specific: https://www.nwtrolls.org/

The Vashon troll is a very short walk, but you could wander down and walk around the beach at the light house.

Bainbridge troll is an even shorter walk. Issaquah troll is a short walk. We haven't yet seen the others.

Where was your first date? Something that shows you that you remember and care about her would be a home run, esp if you made it a little hop around to all your favorite spots. Excursion wise, the beach or hoh rainforest could work.

Have a friend (one she doesn't know preferably) or hire a photographer to meet you there and capture candids!

That’s the plan. ;)

Yessss try WW Seymour Botanical Conservatory or Point Defiance is an oldie but a goodie.

Update to say: Inside the conservatory you need a permit for professional photography.

It’s Seattle but I think the great wheel would be super romantic.

Not sure if their own yet or not. But the Hilda Klager (sp?) Lilac Gardens would be my choice over tulips.

My husband took me to the wedding rocks. It was a beautiful hike, and he proposed on the beach in front of the ancient Wedding Rocks. It's truly a gorgeous place. Out on the Olympic peninsula, you can overnight at any little town along the way.

Take the gondola at Crystal mountain and eat at the restaurant and do it up there.
