thrift stores especially good for furniture?

I'm shopping around for a desk, and haven't had much luck at the habitat for humanity stores, or value village. any recommendations?

the trick is to go often and visit a variety. you won’t always find what you’re looking for. i would add st vinny’s and mission thrift to your rotation. mission thrift is small, but they often have a couple of pieces of cool furniture available.

honestly though, the habitat for humanity restore is usually the best place in tacoma for cool used furniture imo.

I know you said you've checked Habitat for Humanity, but have you checked the Spanaway location? I've found that location to have more furniture than the others.

Also, I found the Habitat in Auburn had a lot of what we were looking for, went for 1 thing and found a truck load when furniture shopping

seconding this, i've found there's immediately find a lot more options and better prices than your average thrift store

And Craigslist. We’ve sold several pieces over the last couple years without a problem.

You never know on any given trip but Maybe try: Hope Furnishings, St. Vincent De Paul thrift store , Second use often has a few random desks, Earth wise architectural salvage sometimes has some in the building off to the right after you walk into the yard.

We found a really awesome desk at habitat for humanity but you just have to go back week over week to most of these places if you want something in particular.

I have a solid wood desk that you can have if you move it. I'm moving soon and planned to donate it. It's in good shape except some scratches on the top from transport. It's pretty big with a pullout drawer.

There’s a new place downtown called Ropa. 2303 commerce. Key words being “particularly good”.

Puyallup also has a good furniture section.

be cautious of used upholstered furniture. they can hold mold, bugs and excrement.
