Let's Discuss What are some other channels on Youtube like TheWhyFiles.?

The reason why I like TWF is because AJ disproves theories if there is definitive proof for them. He also admits that he doesn't know things. There are other shows like Naked Science which is just junk science but TWF is well researched with disproving facts also being given.

What other channels on YT are like this one?

Wartime Stories is my favorite.

Timesuck is great. It covers many various topics, and Dan does a great job of fact-checking and providing credible information while still being funny and entertaining.

Hail Nimrod, Praise Bojangles, Hecklefish for president, and fear the Crabcat.

SOFT COCK OF SHAME!

I frequent Decoding The Unknown. There's some topic overlap/repetition. Simon is generally more skeptical than AJ. I enjoy both.

u/hemanoncracks 6d ago

And we all know that Simon is a cheeky bastard.

u/massage_karma 6d ago

I love watching all his channels especially brain blaze. I love me some Florida man Friday!

u/dev-life-grind 7d ago

Came here to say this. Decoding The Unknown is well worth checking out if you like TWF.

I love Simon. Fucking brilliant.

6

u/azrael316 6d ago

Can't stand Simon, such a pretentious twunt...

3

u/JeremiahYoungblood 6d ago

I'm of two minds on him. On the one hand, he comes across as a smarmy douche. On the other hand, he does produce good content.

1

u/azrael316 6d ago

Used to like him, same with Karl Smallwood, but both have gone past the line of "amusing" to "insufferable"...

1

u/bluneriste 6d ago

I used to fall asleep listening to Simon. I like his snarkiness but how he also lets the story flow.

I'll second this one. Interesting discussion, skepticism and storytelling on the UFO subject.

Bonus points for his Huxtable sweaters.

3

u/Positive-Lab2417 7d ago

Does he give only the believer side of story or goes into skeptic side too?

4

u/sborah99 Time Tourist 6d ago

He covers a wide variety of mythological topics, mostly from the historical perspectives.

You mean Hecklefish.

9

u/tater_terd 7d ago

Dark 5

1

u/Alekazam 7d ago

Used to love this channel until it got factual. Still like it though.

2

u/tater_terd 7d ago

I miss it being text that you had to read. Just you, the music, and your thoughts.

1

u/Alekazam 7d ago

The music slapped as well. Ahh, a time when the internet and YouTube were better…

5

u/TheFilthyMob 7d ago

The YouTube channel Event horizon With John Michael Gautier is a good one

13

u/Upset_Assumption9610 7d ago

Dedunking is a little less production value, but it's similar. It doesn't get into the far fetched stuff though.

4

u/SnooGrapes1102 7d ago

Saw a new channel pretty quirky and fun -" Tor Parsons cabinet of curiosity"

2

u/fthrgasp 7d ago

i’ve really been enjoying his content. well put together, not overly flashy.

3

u/ifpthenq2 7d ago

I'm really loving TheInBetween. I just recently found it and it's pretty great.

1

u/ColorfulConspiracy 6d ago

I second this. I love the inbetween.

6

u/bannedredditaccount2 7d ago

Metaphysical

They do remote viewing

1

u/shovelface3 6d ago

I’m a fan too but there is no skepticism in that show.

3

u/Darthtommy 7d ago

The metatron

3

u/JanSather 6d ago

Kinda similar kinda different but I really like the channel "Thoughty2". British guy a lot historical/mystery stuff not so much aliens. And there's also "The Lore Lodge" which is folklore type stuff(bigfoot etc.).

3

u/rectifiedmix 6d ago edited 6d ago

UAPGerb, well researched and presented. Even provides links to all research materials.

11

u/Due-Lie-2560 7d ago

Just a story teller. Not bad, but nothing like whyfiles...at all.

4

u/A_Minimal_Infinity 7d ago

Can’t stand him.

0

u/Visible_Noise1850 6d ago edited 5d ago

I hate the way he tells stories. 😂

4

u/A_Minimal_Infinity 6d ago

He does seem likable, and I really tried to get into his content, but he embellishes too much. He’s probably great irl, just not a good story teller in my eyes. Too dramatic for me.

-1

u/Fun_Coffee_1203 6d ago

His hand gestures are so distracting to me, like they don't even match the story. I feel like he's aircraft marshalling while telling a story on the side. It's weird.

1

u/Visible_Noise1850 6d ago

Yeh, I can't get into him.

0

u/ChocolateLilyHorne 7d ago

His backward hat gets on my nerves

2

u/flying__fishes 3d ago

Along with the hands!

Jimmy Atkin- Mysterious World!!!

3

u/2Dogs3Tents 6d ago

I like some of it but i dislike that's it's a presented in a "religious" frame when most of the content has nothing to do with religion. Like they present ghost stories from a purely catholic heaven/hell POV like no other culture or religion or non-religion has ghosts.

1

u/_Addicted_2_Reddit_ 5d ago

I do agree. But I will say most of the episode is based on factual stuff research stuff and reason. And then at the very end they bring Faith into it and see if it can fit in anyway. But usually 75% of the episode is just deep deep research into topics and seeing what could be real what could be fake and what could be so so/not really sure. So I still watch and think that he's covered some really great topics.

1

u/2Dogs3Tents 4d ago

Yea, I like the show too. I just don't like the religious connection that is trying to be forced into he conversation. Religion has nothing to do with any of the phenomena Jimmy covers. Paranormal is not connected to any religion at all. It's metaphysical not faith based.

2

u/OldGuyBadwheel 7d ago

Which rabbit hole you looking to go down? There’s lots that you can hit that give a deeper dive for each subject. I just Search the subject on google or YouTube on a case by case basis.

2

I have not encountered another channel similar to TWF.

2

u/no-guts_no-glory 5d ago

JAYMEZ

https://www.youtube.com/@Jaymez

It's more a news format than a documentary format like Why Files.

Also check out Jesse Michaels for some good long format discussions

Don’t mind me, just making a placeholder comment.

The swerve podcast is a lot like Why Files.

1

u/Dry-Pitch-4546 7d ago

I've been watching List 25 lately. They don't go super in depth. But it's a fun brain filler.

u/meteor713 7d ago

WATOP if you like learning, kinda like how stuff works

An English podcast called the Quantum Mechanics does a great job at this and even does some of the field world like going on ghost hunts and doing RV

u/StrengthReasonable55 6d ago

I like John Michael Godier. Not as flashy production wise as some, but he explains things very well.

1

u/LacklusterPersona 6d ago

Miniminuteman talks about and debunks pseudoarcheology. So if you want one really specific topic, he's great.

1

u/Andy-Picklecopter 5d ago

Ancient Conspiracy is awesome! It's all about the connection between scripture and current headlines.

1

u/Zen_Gaian 5d ago

I like Area52. I just found it a few days ago.

1

u/Awakekiwi2020 5d ago

Oh wow so many channels do check out! I've only read a few comments so far but haven't seen one of my favs yet which is....

Theories of the Third Kind

And of course got to mention...

Mysterious Universe.

Those guys have been at it forever.

1

u/Sailor-_-Twift 4d ago

I loved TWF but find the recent episodes really hard to watch because they keep putting more and more AI slop in the videos, drives me absolutely insane lol

1

u/BanditGrey1 4d ago

Shrouded hand?

1

u/AffectionateWheel386 1d ago

I haven’t found any that consistent or as good. He has become professional in the way that he does his shows of the quality of them. He also is not afraid to tackle anything and the fact that he likes art Bell well that just made me adore him even more. Even his commercials are really well done and I think the woman includes his wife, which I really like seeing which she does. I love hecklefish I have no complaints. However, if you’re looking for somebody else, that is as good as he is there isn’t not consistently.

1

u/Squarestar23 7d ago

That s impossible channel of james lafleur is good. It s just tiktoks about parznormal but his voice is soothing . He also got a 2nd chznnel more in depth u can find thanks to the one i just gave u. It s not like the why files but at least it keeps its magick given there s less debunking.

0

u/PrinceCastanzaCapone 6d ago

I dunno if I can really tolerate that Hecklerfish, it’s not funny, and adds nothing to the show. It takes away from it.

5

u/Visible_Noise1850 6d ago

Hecklefish is my hero!

3

u/flvikesfan 5d ago
