Let's Discuss What are some other channels on Youtube like TheWhyFiles.?
The reason why I like TWF is because AJ disproves theories if there is definitive proof for them. He also admits that he doesn't know things. There are other shows like Naked Science which is just junk science but TWF is well researched with disproving facts also being given.
What other channels on YT are like this one?

Timesuck is great. It covers many various topics, and Dan does a great job of fact-checking and providing credible information while still being funny and entertaining.
Hail Nimrod, Praise Bojangles, Hecklefish for president, and fear the Crabcat.

I frequent Decoding The Unknown. There's some topic overlap/repetition. Simon is generally more skeptical than AJ. I enjoy both.

And we all know that Simon is a cheeky bastard.

Came here to say this. Decoding The Unknown is well worth checking out if you like TWF.

Can't stand Simon, such a pretentious twunt...

I'm of two minds on him. On the one hand, he comes across as a smarmy douche. On the other hand, he does produce good content.

Used to like him, same with Karl Smallwood, but both have gone past the line of "amusing" to "insufferable"...

I used to fall asleep listening to Simon. I like his snarkiness but how he also lets the story flow.

Does he give only the believer side of story or goes into skeptic side too?

He covers a wide variety of mythological topics, mostly from the historical perspectives.

Used to love this channel until it got factual. Still like it though.

I miss it being text that you had to read. Just you, the music, and your thoughts.

Dedunking is a little less production value, but it's similar. It doesn't get into the far fetched stuff though.

Saw a new channel pretty quirky and fun -" Tor Parsons cabinet of curiosity"

Kinda similar kinda different but I really like the channel "Thoughty2". British guy a lot historical/mystery stuff not so much aliens. And there's also "The Lore Lodge" which is folklore type stuff(bigfoot etc.).

Can’t stand him.

I hate the way he tells stories. 😂

u/A_Minimal_Infinity 6d ago
He does seem likable, and I really tried to get into his content, but he embellishes too much. He’s probably great irl, just not a good story teller in my eyes. Too dramatic for me.

His hand gestures are so distracting to me, like they don't even match the story. I feel like he's aircraft marshalling while telling a story on the side. It's weird.

Jimmy Atkin- Mysterious World!!!

u/2Dogs3Tents 6d ago
I like some of it but i dislike that's it's a presented in a "religious" frame when most of the content has nothing to do with religion. Like they present ghost stories from a purely catholic heaven/hell POV like no other culture or religion or non-religion has ghosts.

I do agree. But I will say most of the episode is based on factual stuff research stuff and reason. And then at the very end they bring Faith into it and see if it can fit in anyway. But usually 75% of the episode is just deep deep research into topics and seeing what could be real what could be fake and what could be so so/not really sure. So I still watch and think that he's covered some really great topics.

Yea, I like the show too. I just don't like the religious connection that is trying to be forced into he conversation. Religion has nothing to do with any of the phenomena Jimmy covers. Paranormal is not connected to any religion at all. It's metaphysical not faith based.

Which rabbit hole you looking to go down? There’s lots that you can hit that give a deeper dive for each subject. I just Search the subject on google or YouTube on a case by case basis.

It's more a news format than a documentary format like Why Files.
Also check out Jesse Michaels for some good long format discussions

I've been watching List 25 lately. They don't go super in depth. But it's a fun brain filler.

An English podcast called the Quantum Mechanics does a great job at this and even does some of the field world like going on ghost hunts and doing RV

I like John Michael Godier. Not as flashy production wise as some, but he explains things very well.

Miniminuteman talks about and debunks pseudoarcheology. So if you want one really specific topic, he's great.

Ancient Conspiracy is awesome! It's all about the connection between scripture and current headlines.

I loved TWF but find the recent episodes really hard to watch because they keep putting more and more AI slop in the videos, drives me absolutely insane lol

I haven’t found any that consistent or as good. He has become professional in the way that he does his shows of the quality of them. He also is not afraid to tackle anything and the fact that he likes art Bell well that just made me adore him even more. Even his commercials are really well done and I think the woman includes his wife, which I really like seeing which she does. I love hecklefish I have no complaints. However, if you’re looking for somebody else, that is as good as he is there isn’t not consistently.

That s impossible channel of james lafleur is good. It s just tiktoks about parznormal but his voice is soothing . He also got a 2nd chznnel more in depth u can find thanks to the one i just gave u. It s not like the why files but at least it keeps its magick given there s less debunking.

u/PrinceCastanzaCapone 6d ago
I dunno if I can really tolerate that Hecklerfish, it’s not funny, and adds nothing to the show. It takes away from it.
