I discovered my great-grandpa's anvil

Unfortunately he was a depression age hoarder, and it took me 2 months to cleaning out this old garage.

If you asked me what this was, anvil would have been further down on my list of guesses. That rail looks like it was cut with a splitting maul.

Related... got this for a song from a neighbor a few months back; as I already have an anvil it's just awaiting a home/use. (Actually posted this photo here back when I got it.)

That rail is made of tough stuff... measures about 12" long by 5-1/2" tall.

Dad use to cut some pretty nice ones out of t-rail. He even milled out a horn and flat on a few. The best one was from a dragline bucket tooth, he worked on that sucker for the longest time.
