What am I looking at here

Post image

I'm not much of a woodworker, so pardon the elementary question. What's this sled looking thing? Looks to me like it should interface with the router on the left, but I can't figure out how. For all I know, they could be completely unrelated. Thanks in advance.

Looks like an edge guide for the router.

Looked like a bearing/seal puller at first glance. But this makes sense if it’s an upside down router beside it.

It's a fence or edge guide for your router. Guides the router at a fixed distance from an edge.

There will be 2 holes on the base if the router (the top side) to insert those rods into.

The two std slot screws you see through the base lock the edge guide onto the router. That’s the course adjustment and the thumb wheel on the guide is the fine adjustment.
