Outdoor Catting

Looking for any advice or insights on indoor cats that go outside. My cat has a lot of energy and I believe he would love being outside, but I want to keep him safe but still enjoy his time.

I have a harness that he has gotten used to but I'm still afraid how he would react when he sees/hears everything with no walls in-between. Anybody have any experience transitioning their cats to walks or outside okay?

haha unfortunately live in an apartment. all the more reason I want him to go out and stretch his legs
