πŸ₯‡πŸ₯‡πŸ₯‡ FIRST POST πŸ₯‡πŸ₯‡πŸ₯‡ My boys, Thor and Loki

Post image

Thor on the Left, Loki on the right. Unsure of their exact birth date as they were rescued kittens, but its estimated to be later this month, turning 7 years old. Supposedly had a sister who was adopted by herself and was gone by the time I found em. Wish I did sooner, I woulda taken all three.

They do. Though the most love generally comes when they are hungry. The have also provided property damage in the form of 3 spots in my carpet I had to cut out due to Loki having a urinary blockage, and thus peeing in those spots rather than the boxes, last year that's been fixed with a Rx diet for the both of em. Even before that and ongoing, the two of em also randomly barfing up meals which I have yet to figure out the cause for. Seems the consensus is simply: "yeah, they do that". Under a UV light I got to locate pee spots, its a horror show of all the spots that have been cleaned. Guess the cleaners leave and invisible stain. Working on getting things in order for vinyl plank and area rugs to make things more cleaning friendly. Thor also has a penchant for cords and fabric chewing when hes hungry. Cant have hand towels out EVER with him. Every cord has been either meticulously tucked away or sheathed in something he can't bite through. Have yet to find a way to discourage it otherwise. Mixed success with those bitter sprays but I cant exactly douse hand towels or my clothes in it. Still, wouldn't trade em for anything.

I completely understand . It’s not easy sometimes it’s constant work had same issues with mine she kept doing in on a brand new carpet we put on . Thankfully she’s stopped . Most of these issues can also stem of anxiety and some kind of stress . But you have two beautiful cats I indeed . πŸ™‚

Cats encourage us to use our brains creatively. My male cat Finn loves destroying carpet around the walls and doors, he has now shown our kitten Pickle how she can contribute to the destruction. Finn also had urinary issues leading to peeing in our sinks (ew, but thanks for using a drain I guess).

My favorite quirk is that Finn drags around old dog toys and socks (we save old socks for tug of war for our pup) throughout the house, screaming at the top of his lungs. Mostly while we are gone, or if just can't find us right away. So cute, and kinda pathetic. Pickle has yet to participate in this ritual.

Oh yeah, that too. Loki EXCLUSIVELY uses the carpet, especially the stairs, for scratching. So, another reason I need new flooring, though now i may need to hold off longer as I'm sure costs are gonna skyrocket now. He will NOT touch the multitude of posts and pads I have all over the place. When he was a year old he actively put a hole into the carpet on my stairs landing. No idea what possessed him. Came home after work one day and there it was. Indoor cam caught the whole thing. Just dug at it and then never messed with it again after. I just thank god neither one ever went after furniture.

Is Loki more mischievous??

Truthfully, he is. Hauls ass all over the house with post meal zoomies and then starts fights with his brother when he gets beaten by him to the window perch with the sun spot. Pure coincidence that Loki is the instigator and Thor got bigger than him. I simply picked a brother pair name that fit better than the ones the rescue gave em (Lighting and Thunder, based on their chins).
