ULPT how to maximize payout on eminet domain.

The state just sent a letter saying that want to "buy" my property. I am the business/property owner. How can I drag this out as long as possible and maximize what the payout?

Honestly? Get a lawyer who specializes in eminent domain. The government’s initial offer is rarely the best they’re required to pay—you’re entitled to “just compensation,” which you can absolutely negotiate or contest in court. Don’t just drag it out for no reason—strategically challenge it with someone who knows how to value business losses, relocation costs, and fair market value properly. That’s how you actually squeeze more out of them.

Dragging it out without a plan won’t get you paid—leverage will.

This may be ethical but it's the correct answer. You're dealing with the gov, lawyer up

Put up a bat house, and plant flowers that are endangered. Problem solved

Don’t forget to claim it’s a protected wetland and call the army corps of engineers.

That’s the thing with eminent domain. You can’t maximize payout.
