MIXED METHODS EEEE! Finished my moth-loved sweater! Thank you all for your ideas this last summer.

Ended up (1) taking the bits of remaining sleeve to add to the neckline (2) combining the three repeated colors of embroidery floss to make a new "yarn" (3) crocheting the embroidery floss for the new sleeve cuff
Added the button to fix the accidental flare of the sleeve.
Worn it a few times now and have gotten SO many compliments! I'm beyond happy to have my favorite sweater back.

This is one of those cases where multiple mends is what makes it great. If it was just one little patch it wouldn’t have anywhere near the visual impact.
If you get tired of the sleeve being flared, crochet is stupid easy to rip back and rework. The textural contrast of it is cool!

Very, very cool. That is some St. Francis of Assisi level of mending commitment :P (Saw his robe on display when traveling in Italy, many many mends.) Also I must add, the pink sleeve is awesome. Beautifully done.
