EMBROIDERY First time mending

Well just learned yesterday what visible mending was when looking for ideas on patching up my my favorite sweatshirt and was inspired seeing all the work on this community. Spent couple of hours on this, prob my greatest focus block moment in recent times, felt like a meditation and a half. Hopefully this stays gonna work more on this.

One of us! 😍 Check out blanket stitches, small one are great for cuffs. And sock tops make fun replacements. 🖖

Looks great! What is this technique called? I have some hoodies with cuffs that need this treatment but I have no idea where to start.

no clue, literally started yesterday from same place as you. Looked at threads within this com and some videos. But mainly this sewing video and then just went at it. Thought I could learning by doing. Plus these are my everyday wear in house hoodie so didn't care about how it turned out design wise just wanted it to hold structurally, had an idea myself of how I might go about it. Happy about how it turned out atm. Im working on the other cuff now getting faster at it. Try it twas a really fun activity!

it seems i did a bit of blanket stitching at first to get them to the ripped ends together, then went over under while keeping each string tightly aligned next to each other.

It certainly looks as if it is going to last, nicely done for a first attempt.
