DARNING Swiss darning on socks
My Gramma made me these socks, and I’m determined to keep them in good repair so I can wear them for a long time.

I have to confess: it’s very colourful yarn by Drops Fabel - it comes pre-coloured!

I’m now to this sub, so I’m still learning. What did you use to repair them? Pieces of yarn?
Edit: forgot to mention they look great!

I used Drops Fabel yarn - they have some VERY colourful yarn and it’s very affordable and hard wearing!

Do you try and match material when you darn? Like wool yarn for wools socks etc? Thanks

I use sock yarn for mending socks as the extra nylon material is excellent for better wear and tear - plus, it’s usually the wool portion that wears through while the nylon stays intact giving me a scaffolding essentially to use in the repairs.
