SASHIKO I may have gone overboard.

I thrifted this jeans and there were patches inside of the ripped parts as part of the original design. I took out the patches and wore the ripped jeans and had fun with it. However, the tears are getting bigger and I don't want to part with this pair as it fits me so well! Found out about Sashiko and I thought it's only fitting that myJapan-made gets mended, Japanese style. I think I have gone overboard though. Pictures 3-5 showing the original patch I removed and reattached. Good thing I didn't throw them away. New at this so I'm really not sure if there's a way to have a cleaner inside stitches. I guess I need to research more for upcoming projects.

No way is the overboard it’s gorgeous! Your inside stitches look just like my first attempt inside stitches before I learned about organizing a pattern using running stitches. There are some great books and online tutorials about how to organize running stitches. I’ll link a few of my favorites here after I dig them up!

link to a great blog post about how to build stitches in a Sashiko pattern! This is also just a great blog for anyone interested in hand stitching in general!

Wow! Fantastic! I love the globes embedded in the linear patterns. I may have to steal that.

Beautiful result

This is fabulous. Is the inside comfortable? if it is, I wouldn’t worry about how the stitches look. These look like designer jeans.

When your hands start to go numb, that's when it's too much. But the stitches themselves look great!

Hahaha! This took 3 days, mainly because I don't know what I'm doing. Searching for patterns as I went along. I'll keep that in mind for future projects 😄

they look so good!! i find that the bigger the patch the least likely of it tearing right at the edge of the patch lol. if you look at double-knee pants, it covers waaay more than the knee because the fabric is stressed well beyond that area!

These are beautiful! Truly.

And thank you for showing what the inside looks like, I am always curious about that.

Thank you, you're too kind. Not as pretty as I would like. Maybe I'd plan the stitch placements next time so I won't have those long jumps (?) at the back.
