MIXED METHODS Fixing bro-in-laws pants
Just became aware of this sub and was inspired by the cool stuff I saw. Fixed a few of my kid's pants, and when my bro-in-law saw them, he brought over a favorite pair of pants that had seen better days. I have no clue what I am doing but it's addicting. 😁

Looks like it was part of the original design. I especially like the back of the cuffs

I know, I had no plan for the cuffs but was the most pleased and surprised with them!

Were they damaged before you did that? If they were, he is probably stepping on them, you can have him try them on (with shoes) and check if they need to be hemmed. If they weren't damaged and that's just decorative then ignore my comment :) but if they were damaged by him walking on them, he's going to shred your awesome work if they aren't hemmed.

Yeah, you make a good point, they were getting stepped on a bit and probably will continue to get stepped on 🤣. I think I'm okay with it, but next time I will think through it more!

Hemming pants is really easy, tell him they are pretty much done, have him try them on and then fold them inward to the length where they almost touch the ground, and have him take them off and you can quickly stitchbthem folded like that. It's actually easier than all the work you already did, and it will keep the jeans looking good for SO MUCH LONGER. You could learn everything you need to know about it with a quick youtube video on how to hem jeans.

Ok I will see, thanks! There is also a possibility these ARE the correct length, but he just kind of sags them a bit too much at times, he is 6'5"!

Hopefully! They are so cool looking, I just don't want your hard work to get ruined :)

I love it! The alternative patch on top vs under is genius. I may use that method for the next pair of the kids pants.

I love this!! Lucky guy. I would be floored if someone did that for me. Great work!
