PATCH Thrift shop gave me this badly damaged designer bag for free - I’ve had this patch for years now it has a new life! Swipe to see

What's the word for a happy jumpscare? Like, stronger than just "surprise", but less upsetting than "awe"? Because that's what swiping 1>2 did.

Hmm I can’t come up with anything that has an inherent happy subtext but I think stunned or maybe even thrilled, marvel, gobsmacked or pleasantly surprised fits what you’re trying to describe.

Thank you for all the lovely comments! A couple of answers.
The Kate Spade bag was in a thrift shop, still new with the $380 price tag attached, I picked it up and the guy said ‘oh just take that it’s destroyed we are going to chuck it’ so I did, I forgot about it for a couple of weeks then when tidying found the patch from years ago and it seemed to fit the bag so I repaired it first (the back was completely split looked like a factory accident) with mitrebond and superglue.
I then sat for a few hours and attached the patch with contact adhesive.
I won’t be selling this one but I will be browsing for damaged / plain bags to project on and sell, I still have some patches that will be suitable!

This was probably pulled out of a dumpster somewhere. Sounds like it was purposefully destroyed by the manufacturer. What a new life you have given it! It’s absolutely gorgeous!

It's stunning! What was the problem with the bag before though? Is it mold? How do you clear it up? So many questions! Incredible work

Hi! So the bag was split all the way across the back (looked like an accident during the factory tbh) the white stuff is my glue. I used superglue and mitrebond to repair the rattan and the applied the patch with contact adhesive and covered the repaired area

Thanks for answering! I wonder if it was purposely destroyed stock. Designer brands are infamous for doing this to preserve brand value and tax deductions.
Super well done. Love the patch choice and placement!
