EMBROIDERY First time logo cover up

The logo was hot pink originaly so I colored it with a black marker. Since it was still too visible I did a little embroidery

This is so cool, well done!

It sounds like the motivation behind the project was disliking the color of the logo, but now I want to try this on all my clothes with logos on them. We see enough ads, I don't need to be advertising for this companies with the clothes I wear!

Thank you :) at first I just disliked the color (had this bag for quite some years now) but recently I developed a greater dislike for this kind of advertising (by just having company logos on your clothes/backpacks/etc). So I totally agree with your take there!

Looks great. From the pic, I'm assuming the bag is nylon, what was that like to work with?

Thank you :) it's actually polyester. I couldn't use an embroidery hoop because that strechted the fabric too much & because of the relatively small space. Even without that it was pretty easy to do because of the small/short stiches overall

Super cool! I like to get rid of logos on things using black stickers but that doesn't work on clothes.

Depending on the kind of clothes, you might love Noso patches. (They are primarily artist collaborations, so some do have artist/ designer names, but not corporate logos.)

Certain printed logos logos can generally be taken off with a sugar cube. It works kind of like a slightly softer sandpaper, so it doesn't scratch things up. I did it back in the 2000s with my electronics.

This looks awesome!!

Noob question: I’m trying to do something similar. What kind of stitch is this? Or what can I google to see how to do this??

I got to start doing this! Don’t know why, but I kinda hate wearing clothes with the only design on it being a company logo stamped on it (like it would be one thing if it’s a weird collab where the logo is a company that doesn’t make clothes, but I don’t really vibe with like it not being a stylistic choice).

what kind of string/needle did u use for this?

2

I used embroidery floss (6 strands) and a about 1mm thick standard needle that fitted the string

This looks like a bag so maybe this is irrelevant, but is there any chance the marker you used could bleed if it gets wet?

1

u/_COMPANION_CUBE 5d ago

Probably not because the marker I used is alcohol based and won't come off with just water alone

While it has been a faithful companion, your Companion Cube cannot accompany you through the rest of the test. If it could talk - and the Enrichment Center takes this opportunity to remind you that it cannot - it would tell you to go on without it, because it would rather die in a fire than become a burden to you.

OP’s username is a reference to the game Portal - this a quote from the game about that. Companion Cube

That’s a lot of dislikes. people really hate gays here.

I’m pretty sure people thought you meant it in a mean way, people commonly use gay as a way to be rude
