REQUEST fraying jeans on hip - any help?

Post image

hi, i am quite fond of these jeans. they have started fraying here below the right pocket. it's similar to the inner thigh wear (which is in a similar state now that i'm looking). i like to wear these with casual work outfits. i was wondering if sashiko in the same color as the denim would solve the fraying in an office appropriate way? are there other ideas? is it just a matter of time? many thanks!

Maybe some fabric on the inside to strengthen, and a nice simple design of small stars, or even some leaves or something if you’re feeling fancy in a similar colour to the jeans would look lovely.

thank you so much for this input!  i really like the leaves idea, but it does sound ambitious

These are repairs I did to similar spots - there's a denim patch (cut from other old jeans) behind the frayed areas.

This was with a variegated sashiko thread.. I didn't have to work on color transitions.

I would like ALL the variegated thread, alas I’m doing mending because no dinero. I’ve mended the leg and crotch areas thus far but never had to go over seams. Any suggestions for those super thick areas so I don’t kill my hands?
