Did you pay the cat tax?

Well, it took him about thirty seconds to climb on it when I finished…he TRIED laying on it while I worked on it.
The tabby, not my husband. My husband is much better able to evaluate whether can fit in a given space… LOL

Thank you. I love crochet, and saving a much-loved object from the landfill felt great.

Thanks! I was thrilled to find some blue in a coordinating tone in my stash.

How I did it… It's a knit blanket, so I very carefully cut the extra yarn away to leave a neat circle, while being EXTREMELY careful not to pull any stitches!
I secured the end of the blue yarn, then single crocheted around the hole. (I crocheted over the tail as I went for extra security.) Then I double crocheted in a spiral, skipping over stitches as needed to make it lie flat. At the center it made a small circle, which I liked, so I didn't close it up all the way. Then I wove in the ends a LOT to make it a strong repair.
So it's only single crochet and double crochet stitches. The only fussy part was getting the stitches right to keep it flat. I did frog a couple of stitches once or twice to rework an area.

It’s so good! But it also triggers my trypophobia 😂

Sorry about that!
I had a classmate with trypophobia in my book arts class in college. It was a very challenging class for her, since at least one book form involved making big holes in large stacks of paper. She was a trooper and we were very proud of her.
I warned her not to look at my final project, since it was inspired by wasp's nests. So we gave her time to go to the other side of the room before I opened the cover. (She later decided to peek, even though I told her she shouldn't…)
