EMBROIDERY Chair repair after cat scratches
I was inspired by a previous post on the embroidery sub to try and repair a chair that had been scratched by our cats. I watched a YouTube video by Stephanie Louise who had fixed the couch in the original post. Before this my only embroidery experience was one of the beginner kits that I had done a couple years ago, but I figured I couldn’t make it worse!
I’m really happy with how it turned out and wanted to share!! I wish I had done some more flowers but this already took me a long time lol

EMBROIDERY Covered a stain on my niece’s hoodie.
There was a small stain on my niece’s hoodie. I was just going to do one flower but I enjoyed it so much, I kept going!
You can see the stain in the first pic: small red mark on the right. My helper wasn’t much help but I love having my 22 year old cat on my lap! I added a tiny ant too, since I’m her aunt and all. And I redid the bee because the first one looked wonky.
The back is atrocious. I’ll add some fusible interfacing this afternoon.
She better like it or else!

EMBROIDERY Repaired some tiny holes in my son’s pants with some mini skellies
This took far longer than I care to admit. They are a little messy but I thought it turned out okay for my first try!

EMBROIDERY Does this count?
Had a slight stain on my shirt that won’t come out so I utilized the embroidery machine at work to cover it up! Saved it from going into the donation bin!

EMBROIDERY Dragon-butt Dickies
My husband and I wear the same size in pants. He was going to toss these old work pants and I said, I’ll keep them for myself, and covered up the holes with a dragon and a smoky cloud.

EMBROIDERY Thrifted this sweater for $5 and fixed the holes with embroidery 🪡
I always forget to take before pictures, each leaf is covering a hole that’s about 1/4”across. I was afraid it would look weird with one little flower but I actually really like it!

EMBROIDERY My oldest and proudest logo cover-up
8 years ago I bought a tote bag in a supermarket in Venice. It had logos of the chain in the archway windows, but it was so beautiful that I decided it deserved some work to make it perfect. I use it everyday and it’s still in pretty good shape.

EMBROIDERY First visible mend!
I found a hole in the knee of these flower-patterned pants, so I decided to patch it with honeycomb fabric. I also added a bee next to it to hopefully reinforce a developing hole.
I’m just working based on what I’ve seen, and I’m not sure what to do next. Do I have to add some sort of interfacing to the back? Any constructive advice is welcome!

EMBROIDERY The mend that never ends
This hoodie has been passed along through several friends over the last 20 years. The only rule of recieving the hoodie is that you must pass it on to somebody else one day. It has so many holes from being well loved that I realised it would fall apart before the next pass-on, so I've been mending it with colourful embroidery. Unfortunately more holes appear every time I wear it! So far I've put approx 30hrs into this mend, I expect to spend at least that much more on it. I've never embroidered before outside of a few cross stitch kits when I was a kid, so I'm very proud of how this has turned out!

EMBROIDERY Toddler asked for a tiger, she got a tiger
A pair of her favorite joggers got a hole in the knee and I asked if she wanted me to mend them. Asked if she wanted a heart or a strawberry, etc. of course she insisted it had to be a tiger,

EMBROIDERY Stars and constellations embroidered over bleach stains
Thrifted a pair of pants the other day without noticing some small bleach stains so I used the last of my white embroidery thread to free-hand some stars and the Orion and Big Dipper constellations. I will probably redo Orion and even out the stars once I go shopping but it works for now

EMBROIDERY Progress on my sisters couch
I’m almooooooost done with this project and while I’m somewhat annoyed bc my sister’s cats apparently are still scratching at this couch and I’m basically positive will destroy the decorative part, I am proud of the work I’ve done!

EMBROIDERY My favorite sweatpants got snagged in the wash
I wear these thick sweatpants a lot during the winter, and this little hole was the perfect excuse to try a spiderweb! I chained stitched around the edge to smooth out the shape and cover the last of the straight stitches that were hanging out past the web
Hoping to add more playful designs around it, but for now, I got it stabilized!

EMBROIDERY Repairing holes in my kid’s pants with a “Ford Explorer” and small butt spider
A while back my 8 year old son requested a Ford Explorer repair for his pants. I was hoping he’d maybe forget but alas, he did not lol. I did the best I could and he loves it so that’s the important part.
My 6 year old son, the little comedian, wanted a “butt spider” repairing a hole on his back pocket. This one took surprisingly little time to freehand and I’m tempted to start embroidering spiders on everything!

EMBROIDERY Patching the Worn out Seam on my Crappy H&M Jeans
Placed a patch on the inside of the pants and then tacked it down with some ginkgo leaves! (also some faux darning in the spots that the leaves didn't cover).

EMBROIDERY First try at visible mending - matching patterns on the outfit
Got myself an embroidery kit 2 years ago, but only began practicing in earnest last year after I found a small rip in my kimono style blouse.
Tried to match the embroidery to be as similar to the patterns on the blouse. The back is a bit messy but I will be covering that with interface. Kinda proud that I was able to fix this.
