If Trump wants to even threaten banning ADRs in the near future it will tank. you aren't buying actual BABA stock when you buy BABA.

I never buy stocks like that anyways especially in the current state of the market. Only options for me. I think BABA might have one more rally to 160 before selling off. Just my opinion. It’s not looking so good so far

wont that kill a lot of domestic value in foreign markets with expected retaliatory delisting/bans? We have like 1 trillion listed on foreign markets. Would further decouple the dollar from global markets as a secondary result of

It sure will!! But it's in line with everything he's done so far, which is destabilize markets and bring capital back to the US.

good point. I see us becoming like UK or Japan (economically) if this type of policy continues for years.

An ADR getting banned in the US is no problem whatsoever if the Chinese entity still wants customers. China Mobile got delisted in the US and I just got shares for the Hong Kong listed stock (up close to 100% since the ADR delisting btw)

That's good for you but anyone holding an ADR will lose. Obviously the stock on HKSX would go up if people move to their money over there from NYSX. Too late for those who didn't jump sooner though

I think you misunderstood me: the ADR shares automatically got converted to the HK shares, no action required. It did cost me a small fee, something like 50 bucks, that's all

Oh, ok, thanks for that! Were you practice about that or how did you find out it was happening?

It was very public that these companies had to be delisted in the US so I read up on what happens beforehand

BABA stock is doing well recently, and it is also doing well in China. I am willing to take a gamble.
