The US market lost close to 4 trillion dollars the last two weeks. Trump is probably still complaining about the 175 billion given to Ukraine. It's 1600 Pennywise ave!

Who gives a shit about the stock market?
Reddit hates rich people until they can use them to try and criticize trump. OMG noooo poor rich people are losing money

u/Sudden-Emu-8218 26d ago
Hahahahah so god damned stupid. Do you think average people don’t have retirement accounts?
Do you think there won’t be average people losing jobs? Do you think there won’t be unemployment?

Most people's retirement is in stocks.

u/HatesAvgRedditors 26d ago edited 26d ago
Which they will be buying for dirt cheap if the market crashes. Market is expected to crash once to twice throughout your portfolios duration. Anyone close to retirement is in all bonds to reduce exposure to market volatility.
So if they own stocks, that was their gamble and they got fucking dominated for gambling their retirement fund.
-16
u/HatesAvgRedditors 26d ago
And the market will be fine by the time most people retire

People retire everyday 😂

u/HatesAvgRedditors 26d ago
Listen fake smart guy,
As you get older they sell off your stocks and get you into bonds to reduce risk and prevent this type of shit from happening.
If you’re gonna pretend to be smart at least do it right LOL

u/Dontknow_what_tosay 26d ago
What happens if someone retires today?
-2
u/HatesAvgRedditors 26d ago
They are mostly in bonds as you get closer to retirement.
Are you just a retard with cash trying to make a few bucks or do you have any sort of background in finance? It’s like one of the most welll known facts that retirement funds switch to bonds as you get close to retirement to negate volatility.
Go paint and smoke weed, stay out of finance. And more importantly, out of my replies

It’s not just rich people invested in the stock market… and the stock market tanking like this is generally a sign we’re headed for a recession.
You sound young

u/slyfox1976 26d ago
I swear he is manipulating the market so he and his cronies can benefit.

u/conwolv 26d ago
Oh, they've been braggging about "buying the dip" especially Trump Jr. You see what we did there?

u/Hmmmm-curious 26d ago
Trump Jr. What is the closest thing this loser has gotten to earning his own way in life?
2
u/ShoulderPossible9759 26d ago
That really is the only logical explanation
-3
u/HatesAvgRedditors 26d ago
Yeah he’s being manipulated to tank the stock market so checks notes all his rich friends can lose money
Do not breed

u/ShoulderPossible9759 26d ago
Or to destroy the average American’s investments and 401k and buy low once everything has hit rock bottom and the average person has no ability to recover.
Oh, and by the way, the way you speak to people is revolting. You’re a pathetic, disgusting human being.

It couldn't possibly be that he is trying to stoke civil unrest so he can declare martial law and get that pesky Congress out of the way entirely, could it? Nah...
If he hadn't been so thoughtful and measured during the BLM riots I might think he actually wanted to deploy the National Guard.
We ALL saw how far he was willing (IS willing) to go to convince even himself that he didn't get beaten in 2020. The fact that MAGAts have been living through the exact same shitshow as normal decent patriotic Americans and yet they still think he has America's best interests in mind is just fucking unbelievable. OAN and Fox have (to coin a phrase) "done a tremendous number" on the MAGAt hivemind. I get that critical thinking skills and intellectual honesty are anathema to those who think there is no such thing as an "expert". But the dumb of the MAGAt base is just so gaping it really makes me think there is no way America could have even hoped to keep and care for a democracy. Who klnows?...maybe an administration led by an idiot thug is better than 150 million wee idiot hillbillies? Hey, a guy can dream...

Part of me thinks it’s worse than that to be honest. This implies a sort of competence I’ve just never seen evidence of.
What I have seen is an emotional petty toddler with unchecked power. I think it’s as simple as, everyone made fun of him for not getting rid of trade imbalances nor balancing the budget. So now he’s determined to do those things even though they’re deeply flawed and bad ideas, and he has no understanding of the actual consequences. So he’s plowing ahead with things that are bad, because he said he would. Republicans have always talked about cutting spending as a rallying cry because it appeals to dumb people who can’t understand that the government issuer of the world reserve currency doesn’t function like their personal finances of $150 income a day from DoorDash, a trailer rental and $1000 credit card bill ran up at Walmart. He’s just the first one dumb enough to not get that and actually try to do that.

If the Tech Bro Mafia wasn't involved I'd be inclined to think that this is nothing more than irrational thrashing- which it certainly looks like. I genuinely think that the Tech Bro Mafia is just allowing and encouraging him to smash everything because they are in a position to pick up the pieces. They genuinely think that they are visionaries rather than simply the fastest rats to the carcass.
As off-the-rails crazy as Trump is, Elon and Theil and Vance needed a moron to come in and do the demolition so they could construct the better government not beholden to anything but their own greed. The storm clouds are gathering and wind is whipping up and it's starting to sprinkle. And there is nowhere to go to stay safe from the storm.

u/lollypolyp 26d ago
I think the goal is to create so much chaos in so many sectors that civil unrest becomes inevitable. That will justify martial law.
That's when the real rape of the country begins.
And MAGA will be standing over us with it's belt undone, screaming that we shouldn't have worn those short shorts and halter top.

No it showed that there was collusion and now suddenly the US is best friends with Russia and is offering to divide up Ukraine between Trump and Putin with zero concessions to Ukraine. How are you so blind?
1
u/Cinemagica 25d ago
He's not blind, he's doing it on purpose. A lot makes sense when you remember it's not a normal presidency, it's a cult, just keep it in mind when you feel frustrated and bewildered. It's not these people's fault, they have just been preyed upon, mostly because they aren't very intelligent or strong at critical thinking.

S&P500 is down 7% in the past month, BUT is up 9% from one year ago. Up 45% from the past 2 years, 110% from the past 5. The stock market has done nothing but go up. Smallest pullback ever and everyone loses their mind. Get a grip. We are literally at all time highs.

You all sang his praises the first time he was president and the market went up. What happened? A bunch of new accounts created and brand new investors that don’t know shit about the market started flooding these subs? This is how you make money! Buy buy buy on the way down, not at the top. Then sit back and create wealth

According to r/ con, he is creating opportunities for dip buy. That’s supposed to be a win!

You guys really thought the last admin printing 80% of the total money supply EVER printed in the last 4 years wouldn’t have consequences? This was intentional. No one does this without the intent of creating inflation.
S&P end of 2019: $240 S&P last week: $600+
The cumulative value of the top 500 companies within the last 5 years has been more than 150% over the peak of the entire history of the market, which is 100+ years old. This isn’t even taking into account all of the fake crypto money out there.
1
u/Happy_Menu_6239 24d ago
Yes, the chaos and uncertainty is Biden's fault...
1
u/sludge_dawkins 24d ago
I’m not blaming Biden. He was comatose. His cabinet deliberately did everything it could to prevent wars from ending and accelerating our debt to irreparable levels. You’re so cooked. That little Reddit brain doesn’t know what to think anymore.
“Just tell me what opinion I should have Reddit. I’ll do anything to be part of the right think!”

Enjoy paying 5-10%, more on everything and letting a billionaire bend your president over the white house table
1
u/sludge_dawkins 24d ago
Do you not understand how inflation works and what is necessary to stop it? You’re acting like money wasn’t printed and rate hikes weren’t a thing for the last four years.
1
u/Happy_Menu_6239 24d ago
Inflation and rates went up due to COVID supply shortages and necessary spending. You realise both rates and inflation were coming down? And Trump's policies are inherently inflationary? He is literally raising prices. As for Biden's 'unending wars' please find me a time America hasn't been in a war. Your think he should have laid down and let Russia and their dictator take Ukraine? Or are you a Trump sheep and think Ukraine started it?

u/Jumpy_Decision_8552 26d ago

That's not 7 weeks dipshit.
1
u/fantasticmrsmurf 24d ago
No? It was a larger and longer dip, dipshit 🙂
0
u/conwolv 24d ago
Aw, look at you, thinking you nailed this with your adorable "larger and longer dip" from 2022. Cute. But let's chat reality for just a sec.
Under Biden, the stock market didn't just recover... it soared. The Dow climbed well above 36,000, the Nasdaq hit historic highs, and investors enjoyed one of the strongest market runs in decades. Life was good, portfolios were thriving, and your uncle's crypto bets almost seemed reasonable.
Fast forward to today, with Trump back in the driver's seat, and he's managed to erase every single ounce of those gains. The Dow is crashing harder than your last argument, losing 900 points in one afternoon, while Nasdaq plunges 4% like it's diving off the high board. So much winning, right?
But hey, keep patting yourself on the back over that little 2022 dip. I'm sure that'll ease the pain of watching Trump's economy unravel all of Biden's progress in record time.
