Do you mean the Uyghurs?

So, yeah I have, and like you I originally just assumed the reporting about it being slave camps, another holocaust, and what-ever else it is. Then, after looking at how biased stuff is, in say like Gaza, I began to wonder if 'genocides' only happen by bad nations.

Eventually, I found out that the genocide in Xiangshang is a bit .... propagandized.

Smart Shirts Limited vs Sheffield Hallam University - in the UK ruled in favor of company that was alleged to use slave labor in its cotton making. It was found to 1) not be the case and 2) Smart Shirts WON its defamation claim against SHU.

There was a substantial investment in Xinjiang after terrorist attacks in the early 2000s. The area was heavily invested in and now the region is quite prosperous and still very much has retained its indigenous culture.

The post claims the Uyghur situation is "propagandized" and cites a UK libel case (Smart Shirts vs. Sheffield Hallam) as proof, suggesting Xinjiang is prosperous with intact indigenous culture.

This is misleading. The UN Human Rights Office and multiple independent investigations have documented systematic human rights abuses against Uyghurs including arbitrary detention, forced labor, and cultural suppression. One defamation ruling about specific statements doesn't invalidate the extensive evidence from satellite imagery, leaked documents, and survivor testimonies confirming serious rights violations. Economic development in Xinjiang doesn't mean cultural freedom exists - substantial evidence shows ongoing suppression of Uyghur religious practices, language, and traditions.

Cite the actual substantial evidence then please.
