He tried to get the original moved from its protective display at the national archive into the Oval Office and had to be told that was a terrible idea.

It's technically a historical copy, an "official" copy if you will, so saying it's a fake copy is wrong, but it is a copy. There's actually a number of these kinds of copies but that doesn't change how fucking dumb him doing this is.
