MAGA idiots are the same ones that claimed their 401k's tanked under Obama and Biden, but were never higher than they were under Trump's 1st term.

They probably think their 401k's are at ATH's now cuz of Trump's tariffs.

They live in a different reality than the rest of us. They go by what Fox News tells them, and that's it. They are incapable of thinking for themselves.

They’re overwhelmingly poor and don’t own investments. They give themselves away when they say that the stock market did badly under Biden because that’s what Fox tells them. If they had 401Ks they would know that isn’t true.

This is the correct answer.

i asked a maga in person why he doesn't consider the stock market an indication of the president - he said because he doesn't got any, he's self-made and doesn't need investments

i slowly nodded and said you're right and got the fck out of there

My 401k soared under Biden policies. That's how I knew the right was forever lost when they started spouting complete fiction during the election.

No theyre eating up Trump's talking point abuot "its just the market it will resolve itself" now in r/conservative. Ofc when the market went up under Biden it was "anticipation for Trump, thats a Trump bump" (actual tweet lol) but now that its going down its suddenly no longer expectational of the future, its because of the real current economic principles that were ofc caused by Biden. Not like the losses/gains almost perfectly align with tariff on/off news...

Yea if their 401ks end up literally 0.001% higher and the Dow is at 46000 after 4 years of Trump, they’re going to brag about it and say everything was fine.

Not realizing in the slightest how fucking stupid that is. That under any other president the returns would’ve been like 20% over 4 years

I took a peek just because I was curious. The amount of gatekeeping going on is insane. Everyone with a counteropinion is being outted as a "liberal spy." I even saw one guy role-playing as a liberal to take on sarcastic arguments...

One thing I don't think a lot of people on the left have really opened their eyes to, is that the right-wing enemy is the left... they're not interested in cogoverning anymore. It's not just the administration.

I think you’ve got that completely backwards honestly. I think everyone on the left is well aware that the left is the “enemy.” Which is absolutely absurd.

When people start buying American made products, will it be better long term?

No, a globalized economy is a good thing and I’m tired of playing this game acting otherwise. Even if you think the quality is worth the price increase (American labor is more expensive), blanket tariffs are regarded for things we don’t have good sourcing for; first thing that comes to mind are consumables like coffee & teas.

I buy made in America stuff sometimes, but sometimes it’s not worth the COGS that are passed on to the consumer. Not to mention our unemployment is low as FUCK, we do not have the people unless you want to drastically increase low-skilled immigration which Rs hate.

Truly go through your house and take stock of all the stuff you have that’s produced in America vs otherwise. For things we can source, find a made in America alternative & tell me why you havnt bought that instead. I’m willing to bet it’s because it’d be expensive as hell and you’d rather pay less for a shirt, shoes, lamp, etc than have less stuff but feel American pride.

My Australian super fund that’s basically the equivalent of a 401k has a 1/3rd overseas shares allocation. So mostly American for that part. It was so high under Biden.

I try not to look at now as I can’t cash it out and it’s rather diversified

Yeah I’ve noticed that Fox News is so incredibly giddy over this hostile takeover, that’s it’s bubbling down to their viewers. But the catch is the viewers get none of the benefits and all of the downsides. So they are somehow cheering our destruction with the rich and wealthy. It would be funny if it weren’t for the inevitable death and misery that comes from it

They probably forgot the password to their retirement account.

That's because Fox News tell them only what their cult wants them to hear. 100% propaganda

R/republicans are upvoting a comment saying only the rich are impacted by the stock market.
