It's not surprising that he says stuff like that, but it is surprising that so many ignorant Americans believe him.

u/Tokyo_Jonny 2d ago
I wish I could say it is surprising. They’ve been hiding in plain sight all along. Now they are emboldened.

The tariffs will help the middle class

u/Tokyo_Jonny 2d ago
Look at your new source, bruh. Even moderate Republicans like Pence don’t believe in this.

You mean the textbook example of an echo chamber? "We allow opposing opinions. But only if you're an approved member of the subreddit. And we'll ban you if you aren't sucking off the cheeto dick."

The tariffs will help the middle class
Is that what happened in 1930 with the SH tarrifs?

It ain’t that surprising. It’s called the “Ignorant masses” for a reason.

“Never before has an hour of Presidential rhetoric cost so many people so much,” former treasury secretary Lawrence Summers posted. “The best estimate of the loss from tariff policy is now [close] to $30 trillion or $300,000 per family of four.” “The Trump Tariff Tax is the largest peacetime tax hike in U.S. history,” posted former vice president Mike Pence.

He will blame any failures on “the globalists” and his smoothbrain’d followers will eat it up.
These are the same people that were complaining about inflation under Biden & are now cheering for higher prices under trump.

Stable genius who bankrupted multiple businesses. I’ll never forget how he placed a table of fake Trump stakes, water and wine on stage when he won the Republican nominee in 2016; all in a pathetic attempt to prove his businesses were still running - they weren’t

u/Late-Following792 2d ago
Well he is right. Biden put that economy on extreme speed and momentum.
Thats why stopping it hurts
7
u/Big-Wrangler2078 2d ago
Can you explain why he removed all the economic security nets first? You know, the efforts to keep people out of poverty when shit hits the fan?
9
u/Late-Following792 2d ago
I cannot. And you are right. He put down Medicare and tried to shutdown social security checks too.
That is wild. Like asking for revolution.
Putin has some serious controll on that poor guy

u/deviltrombone 2d ago
That orange thing isn't hurting at all. It's experiencing whatever constitutes happiness in its aberrant mind. Maybe the bike rider should be all the people who sat out the 2024 election. Or it could be the country lamenting that Joe Biden appointed Merrick Garland, or that Biden was not the transitional guy he promised and instead waited until he was forced out at the last minute to leave the race, the fucking egomaniac, sealing the deal for that orange thing, not unlike James Comey landing the plane in 2016. JFC, what are we doing.
3
u/ChilePepperWolf 2d ago
He doesn't know what an economy is much less riding a bike. He probably never has.

u/nescko 2d ago
These mfs are arguing “they said it’ll get worse before it gets better!!”
If someone says they’ll shit on your chest and it’s going to stink before it gets better, does that make it any better? Especially when economists, logic, and history of implementing tariffs said the shit smell isn’t going to get better
2
u/archercc81 2d ago
shhhh shhhhh, its all fine. Just turn into fox news and youll feel all better....

Hoping America tanks and then the orange turd starts a nuke war. That way all the economy can start relying on bottle caps. Humans are stupid anyway and fight over the strangest stuff.

- Profit!
It feels like that is their actual plan, but with more '???'s

Would not be surprised if at one point he would completely deny this tariffs episode.

Democrats seem dead-set on nickel-and-diming every citizen they can. Remember the 75K IRS agents—well, actually 87,000—hired to dig into your life? Or that $600 threshold for reporting every little transaction on apps like Venmo? Yeah, that’s them watching your every move. And now, they’ve all voted NO on a proposal to stop taxing tips—because why let waitresses and bartenders keep their hard-earned cash, right? It’s not just tone-deaf; it’s a pattern of targeting the little guy while pretending to care.https://x.com/thegabriel72/status/1907423846770037137?s=46&t=amtRaTNGdcfZPN0hXBitjA

Those hires who were mostly taken on to replace the soon to be retired civil servants?
-2
u/Own_Entertainment164 2d ago
I'll say it loud for the people in the back. SLAVE LABOR SHOULD NOT BE REWARDED WITH MASSIVE PROFITS.
Fuck these countries that are going to be hurt. Including America. It'll make America stronger. But if these countries paid employees, businesses wouldn't gain anything from shipping jobs overseas
2
u/surfinglurker 2d ago
Great, we have done it. If America becomes stronger then you win and we will all bow to MAGA
What if it doesn't make America stronger? Who will be responsible?
1
u/Own_Entertainment164 2d ago
You will pull yourself up from your bootstraps and continue on. America needed to see this, America wanted to see this. This is still all part of the mixing pot. The Great Experiment.
Trump will be the only one the world won't pardon. But if America doesn't stand behind our country then, then we don't have a country
2
u/Resoto10 1d ago
You know what's a useless, ironic tidbit? The original saying had the exact opposite meaning, No one can pull themselves by their bootstraps, "was meant to be sarcastic or to suggest that (a feat) was an impossible accomplishment".

Got it, if it works we will celebrate Trump. If it fails, we will blame Trump
1
u/Own_Entertainment164 2d ago
Trump has been groomed since birth to be a businessman. His resume beats yours and mine. He's qualified to make executive decisions.
But if America tanks because of one man then yes, we take the loss, and move on. Stronger, wiser, and different
2
u/surfinglurker 2d ago
Nah, my resume is better, I have millions and I've never gone bankrupt
1
u/Own_Entertainment164 2d ago
It doesn't matter dude. A great president could wear a red tie and sit in a blue house and still get the job done. We'll see how this pans out, and if he gives states rights back. It'll be more grassroot for us to decide for ourselves
1
u/surfinglurker 2d ago
It matters a lot if you're telling me to trust his business acumen. I don't trust his business acumen because I have done better myself. Therefore, I want accountability if his idea fails (I will celebrate him if his idea works)
1
u/Own_Entertainment164 2d ago
What you want is capital punishment for trump if he messes up. That's already part of the job description baby. Don't you know how these things work for leaders?
Julius Caesar Abraham Lincoln God forbid I use Aldof Hitler
Half of the world leaders die in the duty. So let the gravy train roll and try to capitalize on the chaos. Like an American

u/surfinglurker 2d ago
Lol what? I almost thought you were reasonable until this post. You are disconnected from reality.

10
u/Super-Statement2875 2d ago
The gravy train of having a job to work in an American economy?
-6
u/Apeonrocket_2moon 2d ago
No the gravy train of selling stocks that don't exist. The lack of stock settlement. I hope it all goes boom.
1
u/Dry-Math-5281 2d ago
You fucking dunce this is an argument for stronger regulation of the securities industry, not an argument for the complete fucking collapse of the American economy.
God I cannot believe how fucking stupid you people are. I thought we all realized "tear the system down bleh bleh bleh" was regarded when we turned like 19.

The tariffs will actually help the middle class
14
u/Big-Wrangler2078 2d ago
But isn't this assuming an unchanged amount of foreign trade? Why would trade remain the same if there are tariffs?

> CPA is the leading national, bipartisan organization exclusively representing domestic producers and workers across many industries and sectors of the U.S. economy.
2
u/archercc81 2d ago
They gave a grand to a dem but have zero members who are not republican and somehow they are "bipartisan."
2
u/Icy-Pay7479 2d ago
bipartisan or not it's just a case of "bigger henhouse doors are good for everyone, says national association of foxes"
1
u/archercc81 2d ago
Only to point out the "bipartisan" claim is equivalent to those foxes wearing plastic beaks...
