“Oh boy, look at all these very real ‘conservatives’ coming to join the discussion!” - conservative user any time someone says anything even remotely negative about Trump
This is how extremist political factions form. They purity test harder and harder progressively weeding out more moderate voices until you end up with just the most wack people left.
They don't see Trump and co. are acting like pure bullies, trying to exhort a financial benefit out of every situation, especially from those in need, making threats and unjustified/illegal actions.
Absolutely disgusting, that's a Mafia and crime against humanity
Honest question: is dead internet theory accurate for r/conservative? I wouldn't be surprised if the majority of users on that sub are Russian bots at this point.
I'm convinced that's the case. The conversations there go far beyond stupid, or even cultish behavior; you'd have to actually be immune to processing any sensory information to believe most of it. It's long been said by KGB defectors that spreading misinformation and sewing discord is far easier and more prevalent than the espionage that most people assume of the international intelligence community, so it would make perfect sense to have bad agents within conservative spaces.
Don't they require being vetted by the mods there in order to get a flair? Nearly every post on the sub requires it to even post.
I'm sure there are disingenuous actors on the sub, but the thought of a bot slipping through (or someone faking it till they get approved and THEN having a bot post) is kinda funny.
Honestly, I'm kinda curious what they even use to vet new members, since you can't post practically anywhere on the sub without a flair. Maybe you need to link your hate speech usage elsewhere on Reddit to their discord server or something.
I mean, would it really be that hard for a bot to get vetted by the mods over there? The process is probably just looking at their post history and making sure they tow the party line.
Definitely a "they're not sending their best" moment, I'm sure.
I think we maybe give them too much credit attributing so much of their posting to bots though. It's a community regulated by Trump uber-fans, who regularly delete thousands of comments for the thought crime of not staying on message.
It's kinda self-fulfilling, right? They don't really need Russian propaganda bots telling them what to say, they're not really allowed to post anything a bot wouldn't already say without getting purged for wrongthink. Even in the moments before they're deleted, you've got plenty of sycophants jumping in to argue the libs must be brigading or that the poster is a RINO, etc.
It’s hysterical too because it’s always the most tepid possible criticisms too.
It’s like, “I voted for Trump and love most of his policies and think he is easily the greatest president in American history with a luscious head of hair and a strong, handsome penis, but I’m not sure if this tariff policy is the best possible move.”
Which will inevitably be met with a whole lot of “how do you do ‘fellow conservative’ 🙄”
They literally will not tolerate anything less than complete and unwavering devotion to Donald’s every last word.
this is actually awesome. i’ve only ever seen this shit far left and i swear it’s a huge reason why the left can’t unite and get the voting power they need. maybe conservatives will start to struggle the same way.
Oh yeah they are completely baffled when they come into disagreements they don't think it's even fucking possible. What's funny is that conservatives prior to the trump admin could actually have views and differences. Now if you even slightly misalign with the cult they freak the fuck out.

if they get upvotes, it's because red blooded conservatives agree; if they get downvotes, it's because of the r/politics brigade
