if they get upvotes, it's because red blooded conservatives agree; if they get downvotes, it's because of the r/politics brigade

They've also moved onto purity tests where they claim a dissentor isn't actually conservative

“Oh boy, look at all these very real ‘conservatives’ coming to join the discussion!” - conservative user any time someone says anything even remotely negative about Trump

It's honestly hilarious watching them alienate and push away people who would otherwise be on their side.

What if these "fellow conservatives" are real conservatives who just think a little bit more critically?

Like, congrats on dividing yourselves from within, let's see how that plays out.

Critical thinking is for the devil! Take your ideas and get lost, thinking man.

I hope this fragmentation continues so we collectively stop giving power to the loudest fringe asshats on all sides.

but they'll swear it's everyone who alienates them.

All of Reddit is leftist and libs, the only conservatives are the 10 conservatives in that sub. /s

This is how extremist political factions form. They purity test harder and harder progressively weeding out more moderate voices until you end up with just the most wack people left.

Critical thinking has a left wing bias.

"fellow conservatives" is a meme there. Hilarious.

Is that the new "Fren"?

r/conservative is the physical manifestation of the no true scotsman fallacy

They don't see Trump and co. are acting like pure bullies, trying to exhort a financial benefit out of every situation, especially from those in need, making threats and unjustified/illegal actions.

Absolutely disgusting, that's a Mafia and crime against humanity

Honest question: is dead internet theory accurate for r/conservative? I wouldn't be surprised if the majority of users on that sub are Russian bots at this point.

I'm convinced that's the case. The conversations there go far beyond stupid, or even cultish behavior; you'd have to actually be immune to processing any sensory information to believe most of it. It's long been said by KGB defectors that spreading misinformation and sewing discord is far easier and more prevalent than the espionage that most people assume of the international intelligence community, so it would make perfect sense to have bad agents within conservative spaces.

Don't they require being vetted by the mods there in order to get a flair? Nearly every post on the sub requires it to even post.

I'm sure there are disingenuous actors on the sub, but the thought of a bot slipping through (or someone faking it till they get approved and THEN having a bot post) is kinda funny.

Honestly, I'm kinda curious what they even use to vet new members, since you can't post practically anywhere on the sub without a flair. Maybe you need to link your hate speech usage elsewhere on Reddit to their discord server or something.

I mean, would it really be that hard for a bot to get vetted by the mods over there? The process is probably just looking at their post history and making sure they tow the party line.

u/zherok 14h ago

Definitely a "they're not sending their best" moment, I'm sure.

I think we maybe give them too much credit attributing so much of their posting to bots though. It's a community regulated by Trump uber-fans, who regularly delete thousands of comments for the thought crime of not staying on message.

It's kinda self-fulfilling, right? They don't really need Russian propaganda bots telling them what to say, they're not really allowed to post anything a bot wouldn't already say without getting purged for wrongthink. Even in the moments before they're deleted, you've got plenty of sycophants jumping in to argue the libs must be brigading or that the poster is a RINO, etc.

Because we hate commies.

It’s hysterical too because it’s always the most tepid possible criticisms too.

It’s like, “I voted for Trump and love most of his policies and think he is easily the greatest president in American history with a luscious head of hair and a strong, handsome penis, but I’m not sure if this tariff policy is the best possible move.”

Which will inevitably be met with a whole lot of “how do you do ‘fellow conservative’ 🙄”

They literally will not tolerate anything less than complete and unwavering devotion to Donald’s every last word.

Their inability to accept any sort of non-conformity deserves to be in the DSM

1

u/-RichardCranium- 14h ago

they're upset at people posing as conservative and arguing in bad faith while their ENTIRE belief system is based on the blindest, shittiest faith

1

u/eightysixmahi 54m ago

this is actually awesome. i’ve only ever seen this shit far left and i swear it’s a huge reason why the left can’t unite and get the voting power they need. maybe conservatives will start to struggle the same way.

Don't forget, if they say something even slightly critical of the admin and get upvotes, it's still because of r/politics brigade

1

u/kgal1298 10h ago

I feel like most people who know what that sub is wouldn't waste time brigading. It's a circle jerk in there.

5

u/lost-dragonist 18h ago

If non-consevatives read the sub, they're brigading. If non-consevatives say out of the sub, it's because reddit is an echo chamber.

1

u/Mordred9890 16h ago

Which is ironic cause that sub is probably the biggest echo chamber I’ve seen.

1

u/wumbobeanus 1h ago

It's a tired meme at this point, but every accusation really is a confession with them.

2

u/ThorvaldtheTank 17h ago

Good thing happen: God

Bad thing happen: Satan

2

u/Fit_Wish4368 17h ago

You either suck the orange man's dick, or you're a bot

2

u/unskilledlaborperson 9h ago

Oh yeah they are completely baffled when they come into disagreements they don't think it's even fucking possible. What's funny is that conservatives prior to the trump admin could actually have views and differences. Now if you even slightly misalign with the cult they freak the fuck out.

1

u/Daztur 6h ago

Well there are a lot of non-conservatives over there upvoting and downvoting.
