Being a fascist in itself is condemnation enough. It's a damnation seeded in a bed of divide and conquer with little regard for the outcome beyond personal wellbeing, chewing out the foundation they sit upon in hopes it will make them taller somehow.

There are so many other insults to use that don't disparage vulnerable demographics. I grew up in the 90's when everything negative was "retarded" or "gay," and once I came to the realization that I was helping dehumanizie entire demographics, I cut them out of my vocabulary. Decades later, I have yet to see any negative effect on laying down a good insult or getting my point across. That's the language the fascists would love to come back into the mainstream. Don't do their work for them.

It's a slur for mentally disabled people, and I suspect you know that. Why do you feel it's so important to say that word even though it's hurtful and serves to dehumanize people that are currently under attack by this administration and may be reading your comments?

Because it’s just a word that people decided was offensive to the point of banishing its use. And one that lost a lot of its impact at that.

It bears no relation to ‘gay’ being used as insult. It makes sense to insult people with ‘slow’ or ‘dumb’ (despite that changing definition in use). It doesn’t make sense that gay is insulting other than there was/is prejudice against them. There’s a very big difference.

Why do you have to put down people with disabilities in order to describe republican failures? What does putting down young kids with Down syndrome accomplish by making their lived experience a punch line to put down republicans? Why not just call them failure, dipshits, morons, literally any other word that isn’t used to put down vulnerable populations.

You are completely missing my point. No one uses that word in a diagnostic, medical, or even discriminatory sense. I’m saying let’s give that word new meaning and put it to actual good use. Don’t just pretend to have a brain, actually use it. South Park has a whole episode regarding this concept

Using that word as an insult because you think it’s funny is literally a discriminatory use of the word. You are taking a demeaning word used to put down disabled individuals, and you are placing it on a group you are frustrated with in order to insult them. I used to work as a paralegal for a firm that specialized in the mistreatment of disabled children in educational settings, and let me tell you, that word is an everyday experience for people with disabilities. You being ignorant of the fact that the r word is used all the time in a discriminatory fashion, for decades and decades, really shows how unaware/sheltered you are. 

Furthermore, the transitional use and re ownership of slurs is usually something that is accomplished by in-groups taking the word and making it appropriate for other in-group members to use it. When black Americans reclaimed the n-word, it wasn’t so they could just use it as an insult for a seperate group of people. They reclaimed it so that a word that demeans people of color can be taken away from people who abuse it.

Yeah there’s no abysmal hate in the Republican Party. Who does the KKK back again? Republicans only have hundreds of years of hating anyone that’s not a straight white Christian man. Lynching black brown and gay people for generations. But I don’t suspect you’ve ever picked up a history book let alone know how to read.

But currently it seems what republicans hate the most is having money and they don’t care if they drag everyone down with them.
