Why do people continue to think if only Democrats were elected everything would be a "utopia". Dems have had single party rule here in California my entire adult life, we are FAR from a utopia.

You also have one of the largest economies in the world.

Have you lived in a red state? Just to see if you can compare apples to apples.

What's your criteria? I'm in Seattle, but have never really been to California. It looks amazing.

California is one of the most desirable places on the planet. It is Utopia compared to the swamp states and those shit hole countries.

The fact that this is apparently the most controversial comment here (as per Reddit's sorting function) tells me everything I need to know about the quality of people here.

You're absolutely right.

Is he? Most red states are shitholes compared to California

What does that have to do with what he said? He said dreaming of a utopia because a democrat is running it is a farce. You just added words to his statement.

It has everything to do with it. California is no utopia but nowhere is. It’s a disingenuous premise to begin with. But having said that, some places are clearly better than others and I’d much rather be living in a Dem run state like California than some shitty red state that has been run by morons for decades

"If Kamala harris won the election,Amercians would be living in a utopia now."

Here is the quote. His response was perfect.

Right it’s obviously an exaggeration…

Perhaps it’s a good time to state that taking every comment made on Reddit as an absolute is not the greatest way to get from point A to point… well, point anything let alone B

In a vacuum it’s a farce. In practice and in context, in this case it’s such a drastic difference in the rest of our lives that it may as well be one.

No one with a brain thinks that things are or would be perfect, but defeating the man who threatened us time and time again with dictatorship instead of…, well, letting him achieve that goal would have allowed us to make the progress necessary to get to that point. Now? It’s doubtful that we can.

Like, ever.

Ya really sucks to be the 5th largest economy in the world. They’re really envious of alabama I’m sure

Does the size of economy dictate the health or quality of life? I mean, the US has the biggest economy in the world, yet can’t even break top 50 countries by a lot of metrics.

Any response to this or are you just here to make blanket statements without the context needed?
