Wegovy ALWAYS wins.
I’ve lost 30 lbs and I have a hard head so I thought I could eat a sausage, egg and cheese croissanwich, which I haven’t had in FOREVER, and Wegovy just waited with an evil grin. She knew it wouldn’t turn out well. She was right. She got rid of that delicious greasy croissant in about 45 minutes, and I was at all a full run to the bathroom! So today, what could a handful of gummy bears do? Oh, never again. I could HEAR the watery sounds in my guts and I knew Wegovy won again. I can’t get anything too sweet, too much grease or fat, I’m stuffed after just half of a meal, and bc I have ulcers, no spice, citrus, ketchup, nothing red. I guess I’ll eat lettuce sandwiches and drink water just to keep Wegovy happy!!! My poor Victoria’s Secret panties became Victoria’s Shame. 😒 Trust the process!!!

I find everything tastes way more sweet, salty or fatty than before Wegovy. It just isn't as appealing in my brain either. Can't stomach cream now. I find myself drawn towards fruit and healthier foods now. I can eat about half of what I used to before my brain says 'no more room in here - gotta stop now'. I love the feeling of being 100% sated after a small amount. Down from 101.8kg to 87kg in five months. Constipation is a real problem, but ensuring I drink lots of water and use the occasional stool softner fixes that.

That was so fucking funny, if I hadn’t just gone to the bathroom, I would’ve shit myself.

Oh my goodness this is so true! I ate a blueberry muffin and one bite of one of those Panera Bread kitchen sink cookies (If you haven’t don’t try them! They are like crack!). Anyway 15 mins later I am doubled over in pain and had to leave work. Been laying in the fetal position in bed for hours now. 😐

I tend to get sick first thing in the morning if I eat after 7pm. It's rough. This am I knelt on the floor in the shower and heaved into the drain 🤮🫠

u/Ornery_Win_216 2d ago
I didn’t think about associating what time I ate the night before to my morning sickness (not to be confused with pregnancy morning sickness LOL). I’m going to pay attention to that tonight!

It’s so interesting how differently every one responds to the medication. For me, I don’t seem to have difficulty eating almost anything. My main side effect is usually constipation and some occasional mild nausea.
1
u/lilbit300 1d ago
Same, constipation that resolved after the first few weeks and some occasional very mild nausea. I honestly wouldn't be on the med if it made me unable to still enjoy foods. The decreased food noise, cravings, and getting full a bit faster are great and are helping me lose weight, but if I was only losing weight because food made me sick that would be a no go for me.

u/marsha48 1d ago
Yea I just get full and can’t finish the food. It starts to be repulsive to take another bite so I stop. Maybe that protects me haha! But I can eat anything - fatty, greasy, sweet… just can’t eat as much I used to even if I wanted to!!

u/WinterPal 2d ago
Same. But even though i am eating much less portion wise, i haven’t lost much weight. My sister was sick constantly and shed weight like crazy.

Greasy foods on Wegovy definitely give me bubble guts (lots of gurgling and noise) which I’ve heard is pretty common. It’s generally good to avoid those foods while trying to lose weight anyway. But I can’t recall ever having to run to the bathroom immediately. Sometimes that happens to me if I have the occasional McDonald’s cheese burger, but that’s normal for me even before Wegovy. I’m also a bit lactose intolerant, so ice cream and cheese does that to me too regardless.

Sometimes my fat mentality still gets the best of me and I go ahead and eat that greasy burger. Then I spend the next 8 hours regretting every life decision that led me to having that burger.

I WISH IT was like that for me. It was for the first 6 months or so. But after about a year or just after a year my stomach was back to almost what it used to be. Iron. And I’m gaining weight.

You could be me. The first 4 weeks were fine. I went up one dose and it has literally done NOTHING. I may as well not even be on medication :)

I just started 5 days ago and haven't had any symptoms. Will that change with a higher dose maybe?

I have zero side effects from wegovy

u/familyguy4ever 2d ago
Same here. When did you start on .25?

u/AllMarkedUp68 2d ago
Back in November, and I’ve been on 1 for 2 months bc of stomach issues PRE-Wegovy.

I haven't run into any of these issues 😬 I do feel for you though; pooping your pants isn't fun!

u/AllMarkedUp68 2d ago
But I laughed for 10 minutes with good friends after the “clean up”! Life’s too short to cry! 😊

Oh man! I can do egg and cheese on an English muffin… but as soon as I add the sausage it’s 💩💩💩 city for me too!

I can never eat swedish fish again, or twizzlers.
I'm off it and still don't want those things
One of the things I love is a nice hummus sandwich
Toasted bread, hummus (any flavor but I love red pepper), cucumber slices, tomato slices and lettuce.
Make a sandwich Bread a generous amount of hummus cukes lettuce tomato and bread

u/jurassicjane_ 2d ago
I made homemade hummus i even cooked the chickpeas for it, omg it was sooo good. Better than any store bought I've ever eaten 🤤 i make a sandwich by smashing falafel mix onto a pita and cooking the falafel facedown and I slaaaather it in the hummus and put those same veggies from ur sandwich. Amazing and doesn't make me sick 😁

u/_courteroy 2d ago
Sorry, you smoosh wet falafel mix into bread rather than forming it in shapes then pan fry/grill it so the falafel is one with the bread? I’m asking because I want to replicate this lol sounds so good.
1
u/jurassicjane_ 2d ago
Basically yes on pita 😅 not too thick though. Oil spray a hot pan and put it in falafel mix facing down. It get crispy and brown then load on veggies, hummus and I also add tzatziki

It makes me constipated is that weird.
3
u/AcidAlkaline77 2d ago
Nope. Since it slows down your digestive system it's normal if you don't drink enough water or consume enough fiber.
7
u/Tula_Does_The_Hula 3d ago
Me too, terribly! I had to go to the ER once because I had been constipated for 2 weeks. And I just can't drink enough water to overcome it. But stool softeners are my friends.

Yup. Broke down and had Popeyes today. Thought I was good. Then I heard my stomach gurgling, I was not good 😔. The struggle is real.

How long have you all been on Wegovy? I just had my second shot toda and if it acts the same as my first shot, tomorrow my system will be cleaned out enough for a colonoscopy. How long does it take until you're not hungry more? My appiti hasn't changed, I'm still always hungry.
1
u/AllMarkedUp68 2d ago
You shouldn’t notice much of anything on the first month, it’s just giving your hormones time to adjust. This didn’t start with me until I got up to 1 mg. But it’s my own fault.
2
u/Wpgjetsfan19 3d ago
Only been on it for about a month. Feel like I felt the effects more after my 2nd shot

Hi I was on ozempic for about a year and that my insurance stopped it. Than I went on berberine but not my insurance is covering wegovy and I just started on Monday. Amazingly, Im going to the bathroom. The biggest complaint I had on ozempic and Berberine was constipation but so far, I'm going pretty good lol. I just had to share that.

u/Brewsterlovesme 3d ago
I was taking berberine mojo, and stopped after about 3 months because of how many times I nearly pooped my pants.

I fortunately haven’t ran into any of these issues. Everyone is different.
10
u/believeinxtacy 3d ago
Same. I haven’t had any issues. My partner is also on it and they have had issues. It is unfortunately a good thing for them. One of their issues it’s helping with is drinking and when they drink certain(favorite) beverages, they’re stuck on the toilet the next day for quite a while. It’s helping them make better decisions on what they put in their body due to consequences the next day.

Mine is overwhelming nausea and heartburn. I woke up in the middle of the night throwing up in my sleep after having a nice size bowl of ice cream.

I'll never forget the first time it hit me last summer. I was grocery shopping with my kids, two days after my first .25 injection. I thought nothing of it. Then, on the way home, about 15 minutes from home, I went from zero to an overwhelming urge to shit in about 30 seconds.
I literally warned my kids that I was about to shit my pants in the car, and I was sorry for what they were about to see and smell.
Then, thankfully, I saw a Starbucks nearby. I pulled into it, parked in the handicapped spot, and ran inside. Thank God the single-user bathroom was free. If someone were in there, I would have shat my pants in Starbucks.

Before taking Wegovy, I always had bubbleguts thanks to my gall bladder being removed...I went from fine to urgent need in sometimes literally 10sec. I have been in some nasty bathrooms because of it, and my kids and hubby are so used to it
1
u/Ornery_Win_216 2d ago
Yep, losing my gallbladder has been one is the worst decisions of my life. It has literally upended my entire world. Prior to starting wegovy, I started each day with Imodium and Pepto and a prescription med I was on for IBS…and even with all that there were days when I still didn’t think I was gonna make it to a toilet!! My first month of wegovy, the .25 dose, I stayed constipated, but honestly, not that i enjoyed it, it wasn’t as confining as the opposite problem I normally have. Just went up a dose and am having severe stomach cramps and the feeling that I’m going to need a toilet any second but then nothing happens other than the waves of pain. 😐Hopefully this will get better with time and better food choices by me.
1
u/MamabearFl 2d ago
This is my fear...the constipation is something I haven't had to deal with before. At least at home I have my squatty Potty and my bidet when I do finally try to go. Unfortunately after 4 days of not going, it finally hit me at dollar general and I was fighting for my life in the bathroom as it was still a struggle...this is has been the only bad side effect for me so far
1
u/Ornery_Win_216 2d ago
Glad you aren’t dealing with any other side effects. I feel like I’ve had almost all of the ones listed on the tv commercials. 🤷🏼♀️ I have just got to get my body on a healthy eating routine. Between an unhealthy body image and IBS, me and food have been fighting since childhood, gotta put her in her place once and for all! Lol!

u/Brewsterlovesme 2d ago
I've scoped out side roads off the highway on road trips when I am between towns before. Same, lack of gallbladder.

Ok so I'm not the only one who can't eat red stuff. I had some pizza and straight to the toilet I went 😭

Pls 😂 This is too funny! I am only on the starting dose and moving up to 0.50 and I thought I could cheat the system and have an alcoholic beverage at a birthday party. I was okay for a little, but then that night I got the wrath of 1000 auto-injectors. I have a cruise to go to in December and idk what I'm gonna do!!!
3
u/heartshapedpox 3d ago
I'm on a cruise ship right now - will this be your first? It is so, so easy to eat light, and most ships cater to a bland palette by default. You'll be fine! I hope you have a great time!
2
u/bagofass420 2d ago
The last cruise I went on was shorter and this one is a whole week! Last time I had the drink package, so I consumed a lot of alcohol to try to meet quota to make it worth it. I am not buying the alcohol package this time. No way I can fit in 15 drinks! Also, my bf is a huge foodie so we were at every food place/event last time. Maybe that is why I remember it being SO MUCH FOOD! This time I am going to have to tell him no to some and eat whenever I am hungry instead of trying to keep up. I hope you are having a blast!! Safe travels! 🛳

u/AllMarkedUp68 3d ago
No grease, sugar or anything good! I’m sure they’ll have lots of options and tons of fruit! Just always know where the bathrooms are, and have a great time!!!

u/Tula_Does_The_Hula 9h ago
I don't, but I think I should try again. I didn't notice a big difference when I tried it last time but maybe I didn't pay enough attention.
