Moving my injection day
Has anyone had experience adjusting their injection day, and do you have any advice? I currently take mine on Tuesday mornings, mostly because that’s the day my first prescription was filled and I’ve stuck with it. However, I’ve found that the day after is usually the day with the strongest side effects (by strongest, I mean the strongest of what are fairly mild ones—nothing terrible, but maybe some constipation, gas, and some belching). Wednesday also happens to be my most intense work day and I’d rather not feel my worst on that day of all days.
I was considering moving my injection back by 12 hours for a few weeks until I was at Sunday mornings. Has anyone had experience doing this? Am I being overly cautious, and would moving it back by 24 hours over two weeks be fine? Mondays are chill days for me so I think a Sunday dose would fit better with the rhythm of my week.
Would love to hear others’ thoughts. Thx!

I can move it a day ahead with no issues. I have been on 2.4 mg since Nov 2023. I have also spaced it out but for me, two weeks is too long without it.

My day isn’t consistent; if I am still feeling the effects of the shot (i.e., good appetite suppression) then I may give it a few extra days before I take the next one. I do this because I’m paying out-of-pocket for them and if I can stretch it out that might let me save a little money this year, 11 boxes instead of 12. Don’t worry about the day.

I used to do Friday nights because then I had the entire weekend to kind of lay around if there’s any side effects. But now Saturdays are my busiest days due to kids activities so after I started agin, I do Tuesday nights. But always at night before bed

What’s better -injection during am or at night?

I’ve only done mornings since I started so I don’t have a good comparison.

I've moved mine back by one day each week until I made it to the new day of the week I wanted.

I’d recommend moving it forward 2 days per week till your at Sunday. I’ve been doing this the last month and I much prefer going 9 days between shots verse 6 days.

Thanks everyone for all the awesome feedback. I’m just going to go for it and I think it will be fine.

Yeah, I switched to Fridays as of today because last week I went from .5 to 1.0, and got so sick I was out for two days of work! I’m hoping it was just a bug and an awful coincidence, but just in case 😂

Not a problem, I travel a lot and try to not take a shot on trips. I’ve slid my shot a day or two either way without issues.

I’ve set a reminder on my phone for every 9 days in the evening - makes it a bit cheaper

I switch up my injection day/time by 24-48 hours almost every week because I just forget about it, usually a delay, not early.

I’ve switched my days. Started on a Wednesday and because of various reasons including having to skip a week for a procedure have ended up on Mondays with zero issue.

I normally take mine on a Saturday, a couple of times I’ve done it on a Sunday (either had an event Saturday or just straight up forgot lol) and the next week went back to a Saturday, so only 6 days between shots. I’ve never had any negative side effects when I’ve done this.

This is super helpful, thanks! I think I’m overthinking this but figured I’d get a few perspectives here :)

No problem! There’s definitely a minimum time between doses, but I think if you move it 12 or 24hrs back over a few weeks, you’ll be fine.

I’ve switched up my days. I first started on Fridays and now I do Sundays. I haven’t had any issues.

I would talk to your doctor. Mine suggested doing 8-9 days in between shots to move my day and did not recommend doing it sooner.

Thanks for this. My thinking was that, since the instructions say to take it on the same day at any time of day, that there wouldn’t be much difference between taking it at 8pm on Tuesday one week and 8 am Tuesday the next week, and 8am on Tuesday one week and 8pm Monday the next. But good to know your doctor suggested moving in the other direction to get to your target day of the week.

I inject every Tuesday night. But I forget a lot and do it Wednesday or even Thursday sometimes. Doesn't bother me!
