Trying again after miscarriage – is low-dose Wegovy safe before pregnancy?

Hi all! I’m looking for honest advice and hoping someone here has been in a similar situation.

I stopped Wegovy in January because I found out I was pregnant shortly after my last injection (I was on 0.5 mg at the time). Sadly, I lost the pregnancy around week 9, and I can’t stop wondering if the timing of that last dose might have had something to do with it.

I’ve since had a D&C and want to start trying again soon. But summer is coming, and I’ve gained quite a bit of weight since stopping Wegovy. I’m really struggling with body image, and on top of that, I have ADHD, which makes it hard to control my eating – Wegovy truly helped with that.

My question is: has anyone here used Wegovy during the time when they were trying to conceive (but not yet pregnant)? Is it something you’d consider safe to use while TTC, knowing you’d stop immediately upon a positive test?

I know it’s not recommended during pregnancy, and I would of course stop as soon as I get a positive result. But I’m scared of doing something wrong again and just don’t know what’s worse – the weight gain and mental toll, or the fear of repeating past mistakes.

Thank you so much for reading.

I'm not trying to get pregnant but I'm literally reading the insert that came with it and it says "before using wegovy, tell your Healthcare provider if you have any other medical conditions, including if you: are pregnant or plan to become pregnant. Wegovy may harm your unborn baby. You should stop using Wegovy 2 months before you plan to become pregnant."

Then it goes on to describe a pregnancy exposure registry.

Like girl, either get pregnant and focus on that or focus on the weight loss.

And read the info that comes with the medication.

I say this in the most loving and respectful way I can, I know you’re looking for experiences, but this is well above the pay grade of Reddit. You don’t want anecdotes when talking about a potential future child. Everyone is different, there’s always random unexpected turns, miracles, blah blah. This is something I would only accept the opinion of trusted professionals on, that have to understand the risks and consequences, rather than random individuals.

I wish you all the best and hope you find the answers you need.

I also want to add, and I say this from the heart and not some toxic positivity bullshit- We all make mistakes. We all have pasts littered with mistakes. Those are nothing we can or should hold against us for fear of repeating. They are learning opportunities. Sometimes we have to repeat a lesson before it sticks. Some people get it quicker than others. You can’t hold your past against you. You’re still here, you can always make progress as long as you just put one foot in front of the other, in any aspect of life. Speed doesn’t matter. One slow step at a time.

My doctor told me it’s best to stop the medication 2 months before you start trying to conceive because it stays in your system and can cause miscarriages.
