“Boss made a dollar
Granddad made a dime
But that was a poem
From a simpler time.
Boss made a thousand
Gave pa a cent
But that penny paid the mortgage
Or at least it paid the rent
Now Boss makes a million
And gives us jack
Smugly blames the workers
For the labor that he lacks.”

They get a thousand, you get a buck. Steal the catalytic converter off the company truck

I really hope we do, I’m sick of covering multiple positions and jobs every day and when I push back, I’m told I’m not being a team player.

Gary from Gary's Economics explains what's happening and how the middle class and the state itself are being "squeezed out" by the wealthy. Short ep, good explainer.

I'm down for a general strike. Enough is enough. These billionaires will be dragged into the streets and have a spectacle made out of them if things won't change. That's not a threat. That's what people do when they feel they have no choice.

All you Wall Street bloodsuckers
Thinking you're so swell
Though you've made us nothing to eat
Nothing to wear, nothing to sell
Go tell the hungry it's your superior destiny
That allows you diamond buttons on your coat
I dare say you'll gurgle a different tune
When they slit your throat.

A general strike is the ONLY WAY. It won't be nonviolent, because those in power have already given police a free pass to commit violence on behalf of the State. However, when the strikers are armed, the police will think twice about using violence.
I'm not advocating violence; I'm advocating the use of the People's Rights under the 2nd Amendment in defense of all the rest of our Constitutional Rights, because it is clear that the Federal Government is in breach of contract; it has "given" itself the power to ignore the Rights of We the People and that renders their authority null and void.
Tell all of your friends and associates of these things, find out when the next strike dates are and PROTEST.

General strike? Cool cool cool.
How many billions of dollars have you organized in mutual aid?

This.
I'd absolutely be protesting today if I could. Instead, I'm scheduled to work from 11am to 11pm.
I dont get overtime until after 12hrs in a day but luckily I'll hit 40 for the week sometime this afternoon. Even working 40-50hrs/week lately, I've still been shuffling credit to make rent. I haven't been in a couple weeks (cause I've been working when they're open), but the food bank has been essential.
If I am to strike, I'll need support. Meds, food, dog food for my ESA, rent, gas, phone... loans can wait (and believe me, they are) but so much of survival costs money.

Sorry, N America is still too comfortable. We’re not there yet.

Yeah. We have to be ready to be thrown in prison and killed before anything will happen. We’re not willing to let go yet. I’m definitely not.

I worked and paid into the system my entire life, even served in the Navy. Now I’m an entitled parasite because I expect the government to keep their end of the bargain.
I am not a violent person. Soon, it seems like I will have nothing to lose. What do you think happens when there are 10 million more just like me.

Makes me want to go out and thank a Republican. You know, those people who for decades fought to keep our access to guns. For never taking our guns away. For keeping our access easy, available, and legally safe. They always said that the right of the people to own, possess, sell, trade guns and ammo would not be abridged. They said that the people might need those guns someday to protect their homes from invaders, or to protect themselves if the government came for them. Okay.
Thanks, Republicans.

Just vote for me

Oligarchs have been stealing from the working class for thousands of years. It needs to stop.

I think they made general strikes illegal, didn’t they?
Ah, here’s the AI answer;
Organizing a general strike is not necessarily illegal in the USA. The right to strike is protected by the National Labor Relations Act and the Taft-Hartley Act, which allow employees to engage in concerted activities for their mutual aid and protection. However, there are certain limitations and restrictions on strikes, such as those that are deemed to be in violation of a contract, endanger public safety, or involve industries that are considered essential services. It is important to consult with a legal professional or labor union representative when considering organizing a strike to ensure that it is done in a lawful manner.
So if it’s important and will have an affect on profit, it’s illegal. How do you read it?

We just need to be careful, dictatorships start by targeting journalists and colleges, then use riots whether real or engineered to enact martial law.
Trump and Musk are itching for an excuse to start mass incarcerations and deportations of dissidents.
We know they don’t care about due process, if they sent one Us citizen to El Salvador over a clerical error and don’t care, think of what they will do intentionally.

Good luck getting that organized. I've been warning my fellow Americans about the uselessness of voting and the need for a general strike for decades.
No one will accept the fact that voting does nothing because the system itself is subverted, even though they know it is!
It's like they know it's dark out, but refuse to admit they need illumination to see.
A general strike is the only way. To take down the corporate capitalist system. To erase the two party system. To remove the control from government that corporations have. To return power to the people and make voting actually count again, with candidates that work for the people.
But no, everyone is scared and a bit lazy and comfortable enough that direct action is too much for them. They'll keep voting. Because it works. It hasn't given us two terms of the worst president ever. One more round of voting will fix it!
I'm glad we have Trump. Because he is destroying the system we should have destroyed decades ago.
Granted, he is replacing it with something worse. But we all deserve it, because of the public's refusal to see reality and do something when we had the chance, because as Americans we took the easy path and just decided to keep on voting even though we knew the system itself was compromised, because we didn't have the motivation to actually do what needed to be done when we had the chance.
