Someone is not happy about her first vet visit
She shunned me for a week after this!

I actually woke up to her running into the side of my bed. I can't tell if she was trying to jump up to finish the job or just issuing me a warning lol 😅

u/GemJamJelly May 08 '24
That was a warning. I suggest picking up Tuna Tuesdays to be on the safe side.

Ummmmm. Is she rage biting that blanket ?
LOL. You have a lot of sucking up to do

u/BowTy2001 May 08 '24
Lol no she's just sulking, as always. The doctor had just done her physical and she was feeling some type of way about it.

u/Rockarola55 May 08 '24
Yeah, she was definitely feeling some type of way about it. The type of way being bloody furious and more than a little murderous 🤣

My oldest always used to hate the vet, (she even had to be muzzled every time), but then we found a vet that uses the feliway spray on a clean blanket (washed with enzymes so no other cat smell) and she calms right down. We see a cat specific vet, but i highly recommend the feliway spray/diffusers to help kitty calm down.

I tried some with her, but I'm not sure she likes it. She definitely didn't calm down when I tried it a few times.

Understandable. My vet also gives us gabapentin to medicate her. It’s a pain and hard not to have her retaliate, but it really helps.

When my sweet sugar dumpling cuddle bug cat goes to the vet, she turns into Linda Blair from The Exorcist. She asked me to tell your cat high 5 ✋️

I side with her, because she doesn’t lock you in a cage when she has to take you to the vet

Upon returning home. That’s put the carrier down, Facing away from you. Towel covering all but the front. Unlock, but don’t fully open crate door. Run away and pray!!!!

This was like a week ago. Thankfully they gave her a little something to calm her down for her senior cat exam, so when we got back home she just returned to her little space to recover

u/Michelle_akaYouBitch May 08 '24
Don’t go into that space.

u/BowTy2001 May 08 '24
I'm trying, but she picked the bathroom of all places 😬.

She both looks like and acts like my dearly departed kitty. Spicey but loving.

When the wife and I were still dating/engaged, we adopted a cat. First few visits went ok. One visit ended with her in the ER due to getting bit. Subsequent visits had him sedated and wearing a cone. Eventually it was mutually decided that unless something was really wrong, it’s probably best to just keep him at home.

u/BowTy2001 May 09 '24
Yeah, that's a good idea. I only took her because she was throwing up and she'd never been before, so I wanted to make sure my little lady wasn't miserably sick (she just didn't like the new food I tried her on). Now that she seems fine I won't take her out again unless needed.

Good idea, but every other to every 3 years they need their shots. Even if they’re indoors just in case they somehow get out. There are a lot of calming products from feliway to help.
You seem like an amazing cat parent, and I’m certainly not trying to tell you what to do… just my recommendation from owning a senior kitty myself. (She’s a tortie to boot 🤦🏼♀️. The tortie tude is real, let me tell you).

I love advice! I'm a brand-new cat parent and I've done research, but there are always those unexpected things that just come up. I appreciate the help. I'm working closely with her vet to make sure we're only doing the best by her and hopefully not putting her through needless stress.

Hooman has been found guilty of deeds against a defenseless kitty. Kitty has already dispatched The Avengers, the kitty avengers.

My boys have missed 4 vet visits. It costs me 46$ per month and that provides vaccinations, labs, and yearly teeth cleaning. If I could only round them up on vet day. They are psychic. They shoot out of the catflap before breakfast only on vet days.

Oooooh. How old?

u/BowTy2001 May 09 '24
My grumpy little lady is 12. I just got her in March

u/zeldanerd91 May 10 '24
How sweet! Mine is 13 and a tortie! I’d share a pic if this sub allowed. We found her as a stray at 7 months.

u/BowTy2001 May 10 '24
I absolutely adore torties! They are so beautiful and I bet yours is no different. My Callie was also found as a stray kitten. Her previous owner took her in at about 9 months old.

Why do people feel the need to post this stuff? Nothing uplifting or interesting about it.

u/BowTy2001 May 08 '24
I just wanted to share my little lady. I think it's nice she finally got checked out by a vet, but I guess it's not everyone's cup of tea.

You’re literally in a sub called angry cat pics which is where people post pictures of angry cats. What do you expect!? 🤣

u/beautifuldreamseeker May 08 '24
Seeing an animal in any kind of distress is upsetting to me- I don’t get the purpose for this silly sub.

u/BowTy2001 May 08 '24
I'm sorry your feed showed you something you don't like. I can guarantee that she was fine and not truly distressed, just displeased by something new. She got plenty of treats and alone time afterwards.
