Back to hiding the brief sparks of joy under layers of shame and self hate!! Good times.

That’s not a friend. Drop them asap or set healthy boundaries. Self love is where it’s at.

Ditch them, let them pull that shit with someone else and they'll be alone eventually.

People like this won't pull that shit with someone they actually like, and who actually sets boundaries. They're taking advantage of OP's lack of self esteem. Which makes this friend even more of a questionable person.

Glad I don't have any friends like this . There's no " who asked " in my friendships atp and I am so glad .

I had an ex internet friend like that a few years ago. She was absolutely miserable with her own life (hypothoidism, morbidly obese, living off her mom's welfare checks). Eventually, for my own mental health, I had to stop talking to her. I struggle with depression as well, but at least I tried to look on the bright side.
Ironically, she lives in Florida

I had something like that happen, but instead of "who asked," it was a long winded explainaition on how ironic the plot of the game was designed for it to end when I said I wish there was more. I am no longer friends with them

I don't know you, imagine I never will, and even just as an internet stranger I wouldn't speak to you that way
