This is my schedule for 10th grade and my counselor has approved since my avg is high. However some teachers suggest that I should drop one or two to avoid burnout but I really want to get into a t20. Thoughts?

Yeah my school doesn't' offer AP classes, which sucks. We have a few dual enrollment classes but I want both. How would I go about taking AP exams??? Would I have to email another school?

Ap World Showed Me Just How Little I Know About History

Upvotes

I like history, I always thought it was interesting. So I took WHAP this year, and, uhhh, yeah I don’t know shit lmaoo. There is soooo much in history, like its crazy I have to remember all of the world. I think I’ll pass the exam, but damn, this was a very humbling experience… I’ve never really had to study or pay attention till now. But now I feel like I miss everything if I llok away for one second. Anyways, does anyone else feel like me?

I really hope I’m not cooked 😭

My Junior Year Schedule

Ap Lang

Ap Bio

H Algebra 2

Human Bio

Econ/Civics (both are 1 semester)

Theatre 3

Engineering

Just for mild context here I am a full time theatre student, while also participating in other clubs such as GSA and MUN. Next year I plan on adding to this list of clubs as well as maybe creating my own club. Theatre is kinda a forced class for theatre students if u wanna advance within the theatre program, our director really requires it. The engineering course is a requirement due to my enrollment status at the school but my counselor says I’ll probably like it given my science driven nature. Also will colleges look at me funny for not continuing on with a Ap history, I really don’t want to ruin admission chances? I was told as long as I keep taking more Aps I’m good, but I’m worried they’ll be concerned I didn’t take another history Ap.

Will taking honors Calc instead of AP calc hurt my college chances?

I have around a 92 average in AP Pre Calc right now, but I did poorly in the first marking period and my grade was in the mid 80s. My teacher placed me in Honors Calc and wanted to see how I did in our trig unit before moving around the AP Calc selections. I have a 93 test average in our trig unit so far, and a 91 in the class. She just told us the other day that she would not be putting anyone she hasn't already placed into AP Calc into the class, meaning I will be taking Honors Calc next year. Is this something I should push more for, or just something I should leave alone? I've just been told all of high school to take AP Calc and how important it is and I'm worried taking a lower class will hurt my chances and make college a harder adjustment.

4 week study plan (for AP Bio)

Post image
59 Upvotes

This is not a drill… we are 30 days until the AP Bio exam (and the first day of AP exams)

You need to start building a study plan. Attached is the one that I have made for AP Bio which you can model with your own subject but overall, I am breaking up the next 4 weeks with unit reviews, MCQ practice and FRQ practice.

You can find MCQ practice in review books or AP classroom (ask your teacher to open the progress performance checks).

You can find FRQ practice on AP central. I know for biology we had a redesign in 2020, so AP Bio students should practice FRQs from 2021-2024.

Modification from my plan (if don’t have access to a Quizizz Review/don’t want to do it): Sunday - Unit A Content Review Monday - Unit A MCQ practice Tuesday - Unit A FRQ practice Wednesday - Unit B Content Review Thursday - Unit B MCQ practice Friday - Unit B FRQ practice Saturday - BREAK

Best wishes in this final countdown! You are amazing no matter what happens on the day of your exam. You are more than a number and I am already proud of you all.

AP ES materials?

Upvotes

Hi guys midterms are coming up for me soon, but I haven’t really caught up on the content mainly because my teacher is wack(im not blaming him, it’s mutually agreed). I was wondering are there any relatively concentrated resources I could use in a short period (aside from Smedes videos, I feel like those are more general knowledge but not detailed enough for me personally).

I think I’m cooked for my first AP

Hi! I’m taking AP Euro this year as a sophomore and my it’s my first AP. We are starting the final unit next week. I haven’t started studying for the exam, may 5th, and I’m extremely stressed. I would be studying by now but robotucs and TSA are literally destroying my life. Am I cooked? I’ve been a B student all year.

how to study for ap calculus bc from (mostly) scratch

Upvotes

hi guys! for reference, im not self-studying. I took ap calculus bc (straight from honors precalc) this year as a junior and I've been doing okay. like when we cover the units I mostly get it and my teacher has been a lenient grader but once I sat down to do a diagnostic mcq test I got like a pretty big majority of them wrong or fully did not know how to do them. for reference, we just finished all of our curriculum and im super worried because I want to get a 5. how do I create a study calendar from now up until the ap exam without having any units im particularly strong in besides limits and unit 3 derivatives. im also in the same boat with ap physics (we wont even finish the curricular on time apparently) and I have 2 other exams I feel fairly confident in but still have to manage. is this even possible?

How to start practicing efficiently

Hi guys I'm taking AP bio and chem and I have exactly one month left for the exams. I studied all the units and I can say that I know 90% of the material and I did good in my exams we did in school. So I just wanted to know how to start practicing for the AP what should I do, where to solve questions, which review books have good practice tests for the two AP's I'm taking. Any advice would be helpful. Thank youu

How do you guys review for APUSH?

I've finally processed the fact that the AP test is only a little more than a month away, and I don't want to make the mistake of cramming everything last minute (again)... How did you guys effectively review for the test, specifically the content? If you made flashcards, what did you include in it (dates? how specific were the information?) pls help

Can I chance my ap class.

I am a new immigrant to the US, last month I chose my classes for next year. Our ESL teacher brought in an administrative staff to help us. I told them many times that I wanted to study something biological like engineering. They did not guide me correctly and I made mistakes like choosing something like art history and signing a paper for that class. I know it seems stupid but no one told me that I had to choose classes that were related to the major I wanted, and there is no such thing as an ap system in my country. I am currently in North Carolina and we are moving to New Jersey. I read that it is up to the school to be able to change ap classes. Is this true or is there anything I can do about it right now please help.(I am a 10 grade right now.)

Am I worrying too much?

So I'm taking the physics exam, which involves a certain right hand rule. As its name suggests, this rule involves the use of the right hand, which I'm supposed to rotate, which kind of looks like I'm doing gestures. But while I do understand the concept of using such a rule, I can't help but think that it looks a bit awkward and conspicuous when I'm doing it.

But surely I'm thinking too much, since everyone taking my exam has to learn the rule, so of course everyone has to use it in the exam. But now I'm wondering what this would look like: a whole class of students gesturing with their right hands? Or is there a more discreet way to use the right hand rule?
