Discussion Do you get stuck in loops a lot?
I spend a lot of my time getting stuck in loops and it's really, really hard for me to stop once I start. It helps to have someone else there that sets time limits for me and follows up, but I don't have anyone like that anymore. I waste my entire day doing one thing, and usually stay up way too late because of it, too. I also put off doing stuff I need to do, because of it, like filling out paperwork that social services sends me, or making phone calls, or doing housework or self care stuff. It's really annoying.
If anyone else really struggles with this like I do, have you found any ways to help get out of a loop when you don't have someone else to help you?
Has it always been bad for you or does it depend on the circumstances?
How bad is it for you? For me it makes it so I can't live like normal people. This is a very very common thing for me.
To be clear I'm not talking about hyperfocus on a special interest, I'm talking about perseverative hyperfocus loops.
