“Perfect autism representation” doesn’t exist — autism isn’t a single story you can portray. It’s a complex clinical condition with wide variation between individuals. If you’re trying to understand it, skip the fiction and definitely skip TikTok. Start with clinical sources and expert literature — not entertainment or self-declared influencers.

you're gonna get different answers depending on who you ask and what you're looking for.

some of the "classic recommendeds" in television series (ones that I've seen a lot of people recommend in these kinds of threads—doesn't mean they are perfect in every way or that they are universally loved, but they're pretty safe first choices)

  • Everything's Gonna Be Okay
  • Community
  • Heartbreak High
  • Dinosaur
  • The Ghost and Molly McGee
  • A Kind of Spark
  • Extraordinary Attorney Woo
  • As We See It
  • Young Royals
  • The Bridge

some lesser-known ones that I really liked

  • Move to Heaven
  • Light of My Lion
  • Modus
  • Not Dead Yet
  • Arcadia
  • Special
  • My Lawyer, Mr. Jo 2: Crime and Punishment
  • Impulse
  • The Chosen
  • Strange Empire
  • Marsman
  • Saving Hope

this question has been asked a thousand times before so you can also search this sub for more recommendations. there are also many lists of autistic characters and recommended watches/reads (including this sub's masterpost)

I actually somewhat fairly like Shaun Murphy from The Good Doctor. He’s obviously an exaggerated representation (it’s a drama, what do you expect?) but I do see a lot of my mannerisms in him and they do cover issues he has to work through fairly accurately. Though my main gripe is that most of his personality is just that he’s autistic
