Time for a change?

I'm contemplating quitting my automotive job and possibly returning to line cooking. After two years as a lube tech at a Ford dealership, my hours are inconsistent, and I'm frustrated with favoritism towards a faster co-worker for better jobs. I’ve been moved around and put on a terrible rack. The physical toll is significant—my back and knees hurt, and I'm constantly exhausted. Conversely, I thrived as a line cook in upscale restaurants, earning good pay and thriving on the energy of busy shifts. I left due to a minor issue and burnout, but I still feel confident in my cooking skills. My family views a return to cooking as a backward step, and I recognize the downsides, like no PTO and weekend work, but I'm drawn back to the kitchen. I'm unsure of the best path forward. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
