Quote Request Mercedes GLE from Tulsa to Houston

Upvotes

Im looking to send my new Mercedes GLE from the dealer in Tulsa to a bodyshop to get some cosmetic mods done. I will not be there to sign off as I live in El Paso, will that work? Do I have to be there to sign off when it arrives in Houston? Who can provide me with a good service that will fit my request?

Looking for info Do transport drivers have to have a CDL?

Upvotes

Having a car shipped right now and it’s been delayed several days, dealer telling me “drivers are being deported so it’s hard to find a truck”

I was under the impression that car transporters would have a CDL. You have to be a legal resident to obtain a CDL.

It looks like they may not require it for loads under a certain weight, but the fact that the dealer I bought from sells mostly Porsche, Lamborghini, etc. would use a reputable shipper with CDL.

Having an AMG car brought from Chicago to Houston, enclosed.

Am I wrong to be upset over this?

Dealer guaranteed delivery would be a few days ago, and here I am with no car needing to leave town for a wedding in an hour.

My father passed away and he left me his 70s Cadillac Coupe Deville. I have been trying to find a trustworthy company to transport my father’s car safely to me from Crest Haven IL to Pompano Beach FL. This car is very important to me & I don’t want it spending another winter up north.

Looking for info Seeking reliable recommendations for car transport from FL-OR

I’ve called about 7 brokers and I have a funny feeling about all of them. I’ve used two in the past but didn’t care much for the way they handled things even tho my car arrived. It’s a weird business I guess. I need an enclosed carrier for my 2023 Subaru Outback. We’re moving on May 13th from FL and arriving in Oregon on May 21st. Can someone recommend a reliable, honest, insured company that I could contact? Thanks for your help!

Good Review Followed user recommendations and hired Focus - we couldn't be happier.

To cut a long story short, we were moving several states to our first owned house. The first leg of the move went great: drove the moving truck ourselves, friends helped load/unload. The second leg was a nightmare: everything that could go wrong, did.

Transporting one of our cars was a last resort. I was frantically calling local companies and getting online quotes. All had fewer than 50 reviews on Google, which didn't feel reliable.

So I searched "best car transport" and found an old thread in this sub. The top comment listed 10+ businesses, but highlighted Focus Auto Transporters as the best. A few comments seconded.

So I called them at 4:50pm on a Friday, and thankfully, Michael answered. We set up pickup for Monday, and he communicated every step of the way, with photo proof of the car being picked up.

This car's brakes didn't work and one tire kept losing air - and yet the driver figured out everything and got it loaded, no questions asked! Car was here on Wednesday afternoon (and it's a 16+ hr drive to our new place!), and everything went smoothly.

Everything was as promised, for the agreed-upon price, and mega fast.

I would recommend Focus to anyone. THANK YOU!!

Bad Review SGT Left Me Twisting In The Wind On $4,800 Damage Claim

I paid SGT $470 to transport my Jeep Wrangler from Dallas to San Antonio. Everything went great and the driver picked up my ride on time. Unfortunately, he caused $4,800 in damage to the vehicle during one of his other delivery stops on the way. SGT refused to accept any liability and referred me to the driver and his insurance company.

The driver wanted to handle it privately without filing a claim but I wouldn't agree to anything without first getting an estimate. The body shop's initial estimate was $6,800 and I wasn't comfortable trying to get that much damage fixed through an informal agreement with someone whom I didn't know. The driver then got pissy and said to let his insurance handle it due to the cost. However, he also refused to contact his insurance company or file a claim.

SGT gave me the name of the driver's insurance company, but washed their hands on the entire affair afterwards. They said that their only obligation was to connect me with an insured driver. I ended filing a claim thru my own auto insurance policy. SGT and the driver refused to work with them as well. My Jeep spent 9 weeks in the repair shop.

I had to pay my policy's $1,500 deductible. SGT has completely washed their hands on the entire matter, and my claims adjuster is working get my deductible back from either the driver or their insurance company. So far, the $470 transport has cost me nearly $2,000 out / pocket. The entire process has been a huge PITA and I'm not at all happy with SGT's attitude throughout.

Quote Request Baltimore to Boston

Hello everyone, im just planning ahead but im looking for a good auto transport company that has experience with picking up cars from the Baltimore RORO port.

I am importing a car from Japan that is going to get delivered to Baltimore in a month or so and im looking through my options on getting the car to Boston. Must have experience with the port since you would need to go in and pick it up etc.

Any suggestions?

Looking for info Can anyone recommend a good transport company that doesn’t require COD? I am really not too keen on paying cash to a driver. I would rather pay for the delivery front and the company handle the driver’s payment. Thank you!

I have an '86 Mustang GT that runs, drives, has brakes and working power steering, but no interior other than front seats and steering wheel.

I'm trying to get it from Norfolk to my new residence in Premont. Any suggestions or recommendations would be appreciated. I just want it there in one piece and need it picked up right around the end of this month and delivered by 18 May.

Bad Review Sonic Auto Transport / Bait & Switch / Bad Business Practice

Bait and Switch.

This company provides a "low ball" quote at 50% less than the going rate. They then provide you with all the reasons why they can not find a driver for that rate.

Their contract stipulates that a cancellation fee can be charged if you cancel before five (5) business days. I am now at nine days and they are still giving me reasons as to why I have to pay the $200 cancellation fee.

And that is the scam, regardless of whether they can actually find a driver for the quoted rate or not, they will find every reason to at least charge you the $200 cancelation fee.

Beware of Sonic Auto Transport and their bad business pratices.
