Exp boost

Can any explain the optimal way to exp boost Imoen, Jaheria and minsc

Do I reject all companions in irenicus dungeon and them up later ?

I think if you reject in the dungeon some of them disappear forever.

What are you trying to accomplish at the start of the game? If you want to cheat a bit, you can (on computer) activate the command console and just boost XP using the code

Amusingly some people here think that somehow using obvious exploits is more legit then that.

Well, I think the legit way to boost their XP is to take them into the party and…play the game.

Minsc and Jaheira both die permanently if you don’t release them from their cells. Imoen will get out on her own, but she can’t join your party for a bit after you get out of the dungeon.

Not sure what happens if you save Minsc and Jaheira and then kick them out of your party afterwards.

In BG1 it is a normal strat to exp boost, but I haven’t heard that being a normal strat in BG2.

As u/Bom_Ba_Dill said Jaheira disappears if you kick her out before escaping, at least on the version of bg2 I have installed. Minsc makes his way to the Copper Coronet just fine though, no doubt due to Boo's valuble advice

The first time you add someone to your party they get boosted based on how much exp the main character has

I want to get as much exp as possible before I adding minsc and jaheria

If save them and add them to your party then kick with out levelling will they get a bigger boost once you escape ?

I haven’t checked, but I’m 100% sure the answer’s no. Once someone is in your party even once, they won’t get their XP raised on rejoining

In EE's latest version (at least), the game takes a moment to calculate & set the companion's XP threshold. If you add them & kick them out quickly enough, the game doesn't have time to set their XP properly. Next time you pick them up, their XP gets calculated & set.

Minsc waits at Copper Coronet Inn, while Jaheira waits at Docks District just outside Galgavery's Estate.

Cheers

I’ll quick boot minsc and jaheria and just role with Imoen in irenicus dungeon
