Mourning Maybe reddit can help, my void wont stop chewing on my electronics. He's caused thousands of dollars in damages. What do I do?

His name is Gibbous btw and he is why I can't have nice things.

How do I stop this behavior :(

Agreed re: bitter spray and cord covers. Those big square cord covers are lifesavers. Also, if you can run cables in places Gibbous can't reach, like behind bookcases, that's all to the good.

Have you taken him in for a dental evaluation? I had a void that attempted to chew cables, too. Bitter spray worked, but what killed it was taking him in for a dental cleaning. His mouth probably itched like hell and getting his teeth cleaned got rid of any baby dental infections he may have had, and so killed the irritation.

He doesnt chew cords, just screens!

In fact he's not a huge muncher outside of wanting to play.

Screens? That's bizarre.

Have you tried covering the screens with cloth or something when they're not in use? Out of sight, out of mind...

Pretty difficult to constantly tarp a 50in TV everytime its not in use.

Not to mention I watched him chew the TV as I was playing a game on it.

If the TV is on a stand and not wall mounted, it's pretty easy. Just toss the tarp or other large sheeting over it when not in use. The TV in my living room is that size (my bedroom one's 43") and it's not hard to throw an old bed sheet over it if need be. Just be careful you don't knock the TV over when you remove the covering. A wall mounted one's a different story.

He's a bold little void if he pulls that.
