Piggybacking off this - I try to repost this when I see posts like this, in the hopes you (or someone) can find some comfort in the words - and if not, please excuse the intrusion.
I lost my 15 year old girl (dog) in October 2022. Only advice I can offer here is to remember the positives, and not focus on the negatives (if any). He's done his job, keeping you safe and happy and loved, and it's his turn to rest.
You'll always miss him, you'll always remember him. You'll even go looking for him for the next few weeks (well, I did). There's a lot of habits that you're going to slowly stop, and that's ok. Changing your life to suit you is not forgetting him. Donating/throwing away his toys or blankets isn't forgetting him. There's no timeline on grief, and there's no timeline on moving on. Cry your tears.
I'm sorry you've reached the end of your journey. Words will never make this easier. Just keep your head up, and live the life he'd want you to.
This is a good time to live a little for you. I spent years looking after my girl as she got ill, and I sacrificed a lot of me and my time to keep her safe. If you feel you've done the same, take advantage of this time. Its ok to be happy and enjoy life without him. Life isn't over. Its just changing.
Your handsome boy definitely felt your love. I’m truly sorry for your loss. Be kind to yourself and know that you did everything to give him a great life❤️
He looked like a shadow all his life, and now we'll be in yours for the rest of your life. Good luck to recover from it. I'm anxious when mine will pass as he is 15 now ... All my best whishies in those circonstances
Love it ! I didn't want a portrait cause I wanted more to represent his influence in a period of my life, but I took both of my cats (2 black cats) paw prints and I will ink it into my left rib cage with their name intertwined 🖤
It’s ok to cry. I have lost pets before. It never really “ goes away “. We just learn to phase it out, but we never forget them. We carry their pictures and memories always. Sending love & healing vibes to you. 🐾💕🖤🌈
My sister’s cat looks just like your baby and she passed around 1am this morning :( Maybe they crossed the rainbow bridge together. I’m so so sorry for your loss. I’m sure he appreciated the life you gave him so much.
I had a void just like that, white spot and all. He slept on me every night, and when I turned, he''d just move to be back on top. He passed away a few years ago. The day he died, he sent three small kittens to my house. They live with me and I think it is because he didn't want me to be lonely. I still miss him so much.
How strange.. when my void died he too sent kittens to my house. Twin voids named Ghost (with the ghost on his belly) and Shadow. I miss my little guy but his gifts to me make his death less painful. 🖤🖤🖤
I'm really sorry for your loss, he's look exactly like my first void who take the rainbow bridge in 2021. I'm pretty sure he have a life full of love !
Fairly certain he loved you as much as you loved him. I have had my tripawd for 8 years and when I found her, she was abandoned in a filthy apartment by her "owner". I found her there, adopted her a few days later and now she lives a life of luxury and security. Whennyountake them into your hearts as all of us do, that love stays forever.

I'm so sorry for your loss💜 He looked to be a cutie patootie cuddle bug. Just remember that you were his safe spot. You gave love and safety(and treats). He loved you like you loved him.
I'm so sorry for your loss. 💔 Two months ago today, we had to say goodbye to our void, and I remember something my therapist said that helped: Your job now is to give all the love you have for your kitty back to yourself, because you need it right now. I hope it brings some comfort, even though everything hurts. He was a handsome boy, and I'm sure he loved you so much. 🖤🖤🖤

Grief has no final end point, and just as the bond you share with your sweet void is never ending, neither is the pain of losing such a good friend - the grief just gets less sharp. Time smoothes the edges, and eventually you'll feel able to carry the grief like a piece of seaglass in your pocket, instead of a broken, pointed shard. But that's what it means to love so hard. And it's worth it. 💜🫂🌱🖤

Ugh. So sorry. My proud void will greet him there. Maybe they can enjoy some treats, a frolick in the grass or cat nip, a nap in their favourite box and some eke-eke-ing at the birds together.
