Domestic Fathom Events' release of The Chosen: Last Supper - Part 2 grossed $2.83M domestically on Friday (from 2,313 locations), including Thursday previews. The Chosen: Last Supper - Part 1 grossed $539K on Friday (from 1,592 locations). Total domestic gross stands at $16.59M.

I might be with the lesser side for this opinion, but I don’t believe it was wise for the studio to release both Chosen movies within a week from each other, especially since some people already didn’t catch the first film in their nearby theater(s). I could be wrong though.

It’s a speciality release of like 8 episodes of the fifth season of a TV show you can watch for free on their app. And the Holy Season is only so long, so they weren’t going to linger very long in theaters. Especially at with no discounts off the full Fathom pricing for seniors.

I think it would’ve been better to release them every two weeks. That would’ve allowed them to be more spread out.

I listened to an interview with someone from Fathom and they brought up how the release model was changed as a result of how poorly parts 2 and 3 held last time. But, yeah, this sort of rushed release definitely seems suboptimal. Though I guess this is what Sony's betting on for the Beatles.
