Daily Question Question Thread - April 03, 2025

Welcome to the Daily Question thread at r/churning !

This is the thread to post questions about churning for miles/points/cash. Just because you have a question about credit cards does NOT mean it belongs here. If you’re brand new here, please read the wiki before posting.

* Please use the search engine first - many basic questions have been asked before.

* Please also consider scanning (CTRL-F) the last couple days worth of Question threads

* If you have questions about what card to get, ask here. If you have questions about manufactured spending, ask here. If you have questions about bank account bonuses, ask here.

This subreddit relies heavily on self-moderation. That means that if you ask something that shows you haven’t done any research, you’re going to get a lot of downvotes.

Downgrading from CSR to CSP

I am a military spouse. I opened up my CSR in 2017 in the timeline between when SCRA ended and MLA began. Thus, I do not qualify for the annual fee waiver. I just learned this. I requested a re-evaluation and they denied it saying there's nothing they can do. I have 800k UR points from my CSR

If I downgrade from CSR to CSP will my UR points still be valid and then also get the annual fee waiver? And then from there I can re-open a CSR and get a fee waiver on that too?

My main concern is the potential of losing my UR for whatever reason. Ive been saving them for a huge vacation I will be taking.

Thank you for your help in advance

u/txtravelr 1d ago

Your stash of UR will remain as long as the card does, including if you downgrade to a freedom.

Should I keep trying to recon the Chase United Business (100k SUB, $99 AF version), or go for the 100k Chase Sapphire Preferred?

Can I somehow get both? Get the United Business, then Sapphire Preferred? I'm worried the Preferred SUB might disappear after this month.

u/terpdeterp EWR, JFK 2d ago

What's your x/24 status? And your Chase velocity (include personal and business) for the last two years?

You can get both, but just make sure that your average velocity is no more than 1 Chase personal or business card per three months for the last few years. If you're at 4/24, your only option is to recon first before applying for the CSP.

How many chase cards can I have at a time? I have CF, CFF, CIB and two CIPs. I will cancel one CIP since AF has posted. Would to apply for the CSP bonus.

5

u/bruinhoo 2d ago

Counting the CSP I was approved for today, my current count is 9. If there is a limit (there isn’t believed to be one), it’s higher than that.

I started churning P1 and P2 CIPs last year, and I am wondering if I messed up? I closed the first one for P1 after only 7 months, having already referred P2, and getting the bonus UR and already having transferred them to P2.

Is there any issue with P2 referring me now, even though I closed that account early than I should have? I have a big spend this month I would prefer to put it on a new CIP for P1 after a referral, so it goes towards bonus, vs just putting it on P2's card and only getting standard points.

2

u/harshreverb 2d ago

The issue is whether you'll get approved or not. Otherwise you're overthinking it.

1

u/throwawayforthepron 2d ago

So they may deny the app over the recently closed account?

3

u/ntnsolutions 2d ago

They may deny for a multitude of reasons, but they may also approve. If your chase profile is otherwise clean (no other chase biz card), it should be fine to apply.

There was a DP from someone a year ago who kept opening CIPs and closing them after a few months. That person eventually got shut down by Chase (within the year I believe).

1

u/throwawayforthepron 2d ago

Thanks for the info. It is otherwise clean. For some reason I forgot to add the "close by" date on my spreadsheet for this one, soemthing I've already remedied for the 2nd one.

4

u/dwstroud 2d ago

Sorry, your CIP earns MR?

1

u/throwawayforthepron 2d ago

Sorry, mix up on the points

-1

u/compddd 2d ago

For the 48 month timer on the CSP, is there any wiggle room? Looks like according to my statements I earned my last CSP bonus on 6/9/2021 when the statement closed. Do I have to wait until 6/9/2025?

4

u/Out_of_the_Bloo 2d ago

Has anybody seen an error when trying to add their Amex card onto DisneyPlus? I can switch my card from Visa to Mastercard and vise versa but when I try to add my Amex BBP to take advantage of the Disney Bundle offer I get an error message.

u/doublemazaa 2d ago

If I open a line of credit with my bank to get overdraft protection, does it count as an account for 5/24 or other issuers’ new account metrics?

2

u/Engage_Afterchurners ERN, CHN 2d ago edited 2d ago

If it is called just overdraft protection without the word “credit” and is just a feature on the checking account, it will not count as a credit line on your report, probably because checking accounts often offer it as a feature, and checking accounts also have their own reporting bureaus (Chex, EWS) similar to credit reports with approval sometimes being as strict as a credit card.

If it is called a line of credit and it is its own account and you are simply requesting it to be made available for overdraft protection on a separate checking account, it will be on your credit report and count toward 5/24 and credit card scoring.

I currently have the Amex Business Checking account and Business Platinum (no other MR earning cards)

If I cancel the Business Platinum, do I lose my points or will my checking account keep my membership rewards points active?

1

u/jojokikikween 1d ago edited 1d ago

According to a DP on yesterday’s Frequent Miler podcast, not only will your MRs be safe but you may still be able to transfer them to partners* even with no Amex cards open. *Edit for clarity: to some but not all partners

1

u/mikel319 2d ago

Your biz checking account will keep your membership rewards points active.

3

u/juan231f 2d ago

The checking account should keep the rewards safe, could also open the Blue Business Plus card, it has no annual fee and earns MR

Approved for CSP now worried I am under 48 months from last bonus. Don't have my last bonus date. Would an application popup have came up if I wouldn't receive the bonus?

Update- bonus tracker showed up today

5

u/Vloff 2d ago

You wouldn't have been approved if you weren't eligible

2

u/lk108099 2d ago

Yay! the bonus spending tracker showed up today. Wasn't showing last night.

-5

u/marddin 2d ago edited 2d ago

You can get approved for a sapphire card and not be eligible for the bonus

I am incorrect.

2

u/garettg SEA | PAE 2d ago

If you are referring to this, there doesn’t seem to be any DPs of this actually happening, and if it did, applicant would be notified as they can’t approve without the offer without notifying.

-1

u/marddin 2d ago

Interesting. Was this a recent change? I didn’t know Chase had pop ups now.

1

u/garettg SEA | PAE 2d ago

It’s a year old almost, but I’ve yet to hear about people getting this for sapphires (or freedom). Marriott cards with Chase can have a popup though.

https://www.doctorofcredit.com/chase-showing-a-pop-up-if-ineligible-on-marriott-cards/

0

u/marddin 2d ago

So it is possible OP was approved and is ineligible for bonus?

3

u/garettg SEA | PAE 2d ago

No

1

u/lk108099 2d ago

Thanks Whew. That could have been bad.

After taking an upgrade offer, do you have to use the new card for the SUB or can you just keep using the old card just fine?

I leave for a month long vacation before I have time for the new card to show up.

2

u/garettg SEA | PAE 2d ago

Once card updates on login you are good to use the old card as the new card, so yes you can use it still.

Anyone been able to open another Amex business checking account after previously (1.5years) closing one?

2

u/sjimenez_c 2d ago

I got a second one under my SSN. The previous one was under my EIN (closed long before I opened the second one).

Anyone have any podcast/YouTube channel recommendations for advanced churning—with a focus on the churn/points earning side rather than the burn/redemption side? Thanks!

5

u/rickayyy 2d ago

10xTravel has a ton of resources. They have a free course that breaks it all down pretty easily.

1

u/Upstairs-Initial-956 2d ago

Thanks. Do you know of any more advanced podcasts?

1

u/rickayyy 2d ago

I'm not sure what exactly you're looking for but a lot of the advanced strategies I assume you're referring to are closely guarded secrets so people aren't super eager to share them.

Looking for data points regarding paying a Honda auto loan through plastiq using a chase mastercard? I know plastiq is strict about what cards can pay for auto loans. Any tips appreciated on this.

4

u/Botafogo007 3d ago

Have paid P2s Honda auto loan through Plastiq using an Aeroplan Mastercard from Chase. We've also used Mastercards from BofA and Barclays without any issues.

1

u/crazyrichasian549 1d ago

Hey, might be a dumb question. how did you actually pay to Honda through Plastiq? did you get account/routing# from Platiq as honda website only takes acc/ routing info

2

u/Botafogo007 1d ago

I just have Plastiq send them a check - that’s the only way it’s worked for me.

1

u/scorpiopersephone 3d ago

Brilliant. That is super helpful.

1

u/JPWRana 1d ago

Visas and amex cards are no good for this.

1

u/scorpiopersephone 1d ago

They claimed (via representative chat) that business visa would work. Do you know if that’s the case?

1

u/sg77 RFS 1d ago

https://support.plastiq.com/s/article/Visa-Card-Policy says it won't work for auto loans, just auto purchases or lease payments. Maybe they missed that you were asking about a loan.

(There's a chance that something will work even though it's not supposed to, but I don't know of any data points for this specific case.)

1

u/scorpiopersephone 1d ago

Thanks, at this point I think I’ve confirmed that specific MasterCard will work so I’m looking at Barclay.

Has anyone had experience downgrading from CSR to CSP then to Freedom in a single month? I was told by a rep that when I went from CSR to CSP, I could not change again for 12 months, but seems bogus.

1

u/juan231f 2d ago

Yes you could downgrade again, you just can't upgrade (to annual fee cards) for a year after applying for a card. Also wait a week after getting freedom to reapply for the CSP, this gives you time for the card to clear the system (one sapphire rule).

1

u/garettg SEA | PAE 3d ago

What would be the purpose of CSR->CSP->CF?

1

u/nikehair 3d ago

To get the 100k CAP bonus. Haven’t had one since 2015.

0

u/jojokikikween 3d ago

To get the current CSP bonus you’d need to downgrade directly from CSR to Freedom.

1

u/garettg SEA | PAE 3d ago

Then just downgrade from CSR to the freedom directly, no need to do CSP in the middle.

1

u/nikehair 3d ago edited 3d ago

I already downgraded to CSP a couple of months ago to avoid the AF. It was a mistake 💀

4

u/garettg SEA | PAE 3d ago

There have been people who have PCed more than once in a 12 month period, you should be fine to go from CSP to CF.

Apologies in advance if this Q should be on an Amex or credit card sub but I thought my churning peeps would know.

I realized I have an $150 delta stays credit that I didn't use last year. My new year started 28 Mar 25, i was charged the $350 and I plan to cancel within the month to have the $350 reversed. If I book a delta stays hotel and stay there this month, the credit will be applied immediately after I check out (?). Will the credit be taken back after I cancel the card?

2

u/johnald03 3d ago

Delta stays you can normally pay for the stay at the time of booking, so do that and get the credit to post before you cancel the card.

1

u/commentsection23 3d ago

Ok, I didn't recall that we pay at time of booking. Sounds like you don't think that they will take back the $150 credit. I've just heard horror stories about bonuses being taken back and wondered if it could happen here.

1

u/johnald03 3d ago

The credits only get clawed back if you end up cancelling the charge. It's normal to have the credit post then cancel the card and be okay. There is some inconsistency with Amex not crediting the purchase if you cancel before the credit is posted.

1

u/commentsection23 3d ago

Do you happen to know how long it takes to post?

2

u/johnald03 3d ago

Within a week for me, can check churning.io

1

u/commentsection23 3d ago

Thanks for all the help!

u/johnald03 3d ago

Booked a Delta Stay with two of my Delta Biz cc's, and am planning on changing the stay. Delta Stays says that the only way to do this is via a refund to original form of payment, and then rebooking. Unfortunately my annual fee is coming due in the next month or so. I'm hoping to cancel the stays and then recharge the cards. Any chance this will trigger a clawback, or should I be okay?

3

u/garettg SEA | PAE 3d ago

There have been reports the DL stay credit hasn't been clawed back after refund, but who knows with Amex if they will come back in a year or so and do it. If you are going to refund and then book again, then your credit should be safe, if it was clawed back, it would be triggered again by the new reservation.

u/johnald03 3d ago

Currently want to do the following: 1. Have a CSP (more than 48 months) 2. Going to refer P2 on 8th of april for the 100k offer 3. Will downgrade my CSP to OG Chase Freedom with UR 4. P2 will refer me for the 100k CSP offer

Any issues with my plan? Mainly curious about step 3. Do I need to wait until referral points posts before downgrading or it doesn’t matter?

1

u/Total-Shelter-8501 3d ago

how do I confirm an amex additional employee card without entering ssn and dob? Without this the card won't get activated

1

u/JManUWaterloo 3d ago

This is a requirement to activate the card.

If the additionally named does not have a SSN, they can provide their ID number in lieu by calling American Express to activate

The card should be good for some very select types of transactions even without confirmation

1

u/taylorreim 3d ago

When downgrading CSP to CFF or whatever card it is, if they ask why is it okay to tell them that you want to re apply for the bonus for the CSP or just stick with “financially this is better for me” or something generic like that

4

u/Capitator 2d ago

I always just say that I won't be able travel much in the year.

7

u/mets2016 3d ago

I tend to say something like "because I've had life changes" which is generic enough to convey no information and sounds serious enough that they don't ask you anything further

3

u/jojokikikween 3d ago

It’s not a deposition, just say you prefer a no-fee card now and/or you like the benefits of the new card. For credit limit changes I’ve never heard of them demanding a reason

3

u/sg77 RFS 3d ago

I don't think I've ever been asked why I wanted to change one card to another (but when closing cards, I've been asked why; I just say I no longer have a need for it; or because of the annual fee).

8

u/garettg SEA | PAE 3d ago

Just say you dont want to pay the AF anymore. They dont care either way.

2

u/Original_Comfort6321 3d ago

I'm not sure why you would disclose that? just keep it generic...

"or whatever card it is"- CSP can only be downgraded to CFF, CFU, or OG Chase freedom with ultimate rewards. just fyi

1

u/taylorreim 3d ago

I was gonna decrease my credit limit from 25k to 5k as well so I didn’t know if they were gonna be like “why do you want to do this” so just thought I would ask. Appreciate it

3

u/garettg SEA | PAE 3d ago

They ask about why the downgrade, but thats just for their internal analytics so they can gather why people might upgrade/downgrade to help future decisions. For lower CL, I'd be surprised if they even ask why on that.

1

u/rickayyy 2d ago

I lowered the limits on a couple of Chase cards last summer and they didn't ask any questions. They don't care why you're lowering.

Want to cash out some MR to my Amex business checking acct. When I go to do this it's asking for the CVV to confirm for a card that I don't recognize. It's not the last 5 of any card I have... What's the work around?

solved

2

u/terpdeterp EWR, JFK 3d ago

Could it be the debit card for your Amex biz checking instead of one of your credit cards?

2

u/Parts_Unknown- 3d ago

Nope. I triple checked and it was an unactivated BBP employee card from my wife's account. Yes, really.

1

u/jojokikikween 3d ago

That’s kind of wild

1

u/joghi 3d ago

If it doesn't work for some reason you can chat and tell them the amount of points you want to cash out. (It will involve a handover to the banking division)

It'll allegedly be live on referrals April 8th. Can also have your friends apply now and request a match since it's a public offer but probably best to wait a few days

1

u/EarthlingMardiDraw 3d ago

There is no guarantee, but they tend to show up around a week after affiliate links are updated. If your friends are up for it, though, they can always use a referral link and just send a secure message to ask for a match to the public offer.

I am not getting enough value with Amex Blue Cash Preferred. I already cash Blue Cash, and the $95 annual fee is not justified. What is the best no-fee card to convert it to? Ideally, a card with Amex points that never has a good sign up bonus.

3

u/EarthlingMardiDraw 3d ago

The Blue Cash Preferred can only be converted to the Blue Cash Everyday (no AF option). AmEx will not let you convert any cards between rewards types (e.g., no Cash -> MR, no MR -> Delta, etc.).

0

u/CericRushmore DCA 3d ago

I don't think they will let you to convert to anything else.

Downgraded CSR to CFF. Will the greyed out CSR leave my online dashboard automatically? Or will I need to request that ?

2

u/garettg SEA | PAE 3d ago

You can hide accounts in the profile settings. You are probably seeing it this way because you when from a CSR (Visa) to a CFF (Mastercard). Had you gone from CSR to CF (both Visas) you would just see the same account updated as the new card.

1

u/Original_Comfort6321 3d ago

It will disappear after a few months from your online account; however, closed accounts are closed immediately and usually not reversible (some are reversible within 30 days). Don't need to "request" anything

I submitted a Chase United business card application on behalf of P2 early last Sunday, 3/29. It was received successfully, but went to pending review status.  There was an immediate corresponding hard pull on Experian from Chase at the time of the application.  However, the status line says that no application has been submitted as of yet, over three business days later.

Is this normal?  I ask because I’ve been out of the Chase game for a long time since getting shut down in late and P2 no longer wanting me to submit applications on her behalf until recently.

How can I best educate myself on some of the intricacies of Churning? For example, when I am eligible for the CSP SUB after CSR, which cards are ‘family’ cards, etc?

9

u/beckhsrules 3d ago

Probably read through the wiki and do some research on what specific card or bank you looking for which should give you the answers.

12

u/mra101485 3d ago

Read more than you post. Read everything on these forums.

Look at blogs like FM and Doctor of Credit.

Using churning.io to look up things and see what has been asked historically.

Read more than you post. Dig deep into your own research is the name of the game. There is a general helpful attitude within the community to those who have put in time and effort to understand the basics. But for people who come in and just want information handed to them, it is not received well. A lot of learning curves go into the hobby, and if people want to be spoon fed, it doesn't go well.

So, read more than you post.

Does anyone know how long after earning my VX SUB I need to wait to be approved for the Venture? It’d be great to combine those SUBs.

Got VX early march, earned my SUB end of march, statement period ends mid April.

1

u/superdex75 3d ago

Got Venture six months ago, currently at 2/24, pre-approval for VX is still negative. "there are too many active credit cards based on your loan history", have 6 personal cards open. I will wait until next month when I will be 1/24 and try again before giving up on the VX and move on.

1

u/spin-city 3d ago

Good luck, I’m personally very excited to get to use the lounges after getting brought in by my brother last year

2

u/Beduerus 3d ago

There is usually a minimum 3 month wait before you can get approved for another card. After that, it is still unclear if you will be approved because of C1's algorithm

4

u/beckhsrules 3d ago

Getting the approval is much more harder with Cap1. If you are able to get the approval it should be no issues getting the bonus.

4

u/oklurkerthrowaway 3d ago

No waiting period. However, Cap1 has to approve you, which is not automatic

Stupid question, but can I assume 48 month rule is pretty solid for Chase? I am at about 46 months (got the card in June 2021), that's not "close enough" is it?

6

u/Out_of_the_Bloo 3d ago

48 months from the charge that triggered the SUB, not the card opening date.

u/payyoutuesday COW, BOY 3d ago

I've got pretty good spreadsheet records of key info for my cards, but that's a stat that I don't track!

2

u/ZDDP1273 23h ago

For Chase if the card is still open I just go back thru statements going back to around 4 years to see which statement where the SUB posted and go by that.

2

u/payyoutuesday COW, BOY 22h ago

Same, except I record the statement date when I got the bonus in my spreadsheet so I don't have to hunt for it.

5

u/beckhsrules 3d ago

Check your statements to see when you exactly got the bonus. And then make sure you apply 48 months after that as its a pretty hard rule for Chase.

9

u/payyoutuesday COW, BOY 3d ago

got the card in June 2021

Not relevant. When you got the bonus is relevant.

3

u/jtevy 3d ago

Assuming that a Sapphire SUB is in reference, 48 months is a hard rule

After the recent Clear + Uber promo where Clear ended up cancelling and refunding all those charges in 2 steps ($124 + $75), has anyone gotten any claw back from Amex yet, maybe after closing one of the cards affected?

2

u/EarthlingMardiDraw 3d ago

I haven't gotten a clawback yet across ~10 plats and 3 players. I'm still expecting that it will come someday.

1

u/coljung 3d ago

Same here, but i have a few that are due to be closed soon.

2

u/EarthlingMardiDraw 3d ago

Yeah, same here. I plan to close them normally and keep them attached to my login and keep checking for a few months. If nothing happens during that time, then I'll just remove them and wait for a new bill in the mail from AmEx.

-7

u/McSpiffin 3d ago

has anyone gotten any claw back from Amex yet

Claw back of what?

1

u/coljung 3d ago

I guess you didn’t try getting a Clear subscription then?

Clear appears to have cancelled and refunded the payments from anyone who used Amex during that promo. Amex still gave the Clear credit though.

-3

u/McSpiffin 3d ago edited 3d ago

I guess you didn’t try getting a Clear subscription then?

What on earth would make you think that

everyone I know had gotten the CLEAR credit almost immediately "clawed back"

I got it 3 times, so yes, I would know too.

edit: For some reason OP asks a question to only be okay with one answer. Either really sensitive or some reading comprehension issue. For those reading, yes, my CLEAR credit was clawed back on all my accounts. My balance is $0 not -$199.

-1

u/coljung 3d ago

I don’t think you know what im talking about then.

-7

u/McSpiffin 3d ago

sounds like you need to get off your high horse

-2

u/coljung 3d ago

Again you don’t know what im talking about. I explained it, and still acted like an a$$.

Good bye.

Btw, Amex hasn’t clawed back any of the credits im talking about.

u/AirDreamer2 3d ago

If you activate an Amex offer for a transaction that you already made yesterday but is still being pended and is not posted yet, does it trigger the offer once it is posted?

2

u/VegetableActivity703 2d ago

Relevant DP from this week!

April 1 - Uniqlo order, transaction pending immediately

April 2 - Confirmed transaction still pending, added Amex offer $10 back at Uniqlo

April 3 or 4 (hard to tell now) - transaction finalized with an April 2 transaction date, $10 offer credit posted with an April 3 transaction date

I will post this in the weekly DP thread as well.

1

u/uchidaid 2d ago

I have been successful once a few years ago. Sorry I don’t have any details. Let us know how it turns out for you.

1

u/trix_r4kidz 3d ago

It totally depends on how that vendor has structured their payment processing workflows. They could process a card auth on one day but the card capture at the same time, or later that day, or days later. Just depends.

2

u/EarthlingMardiDraw 3d ago

I don't think I've seen DPs of it. If you triggered the AmEx offer the same day but after the transaction, it would likely work (that certainly works for the various AmEx credits). There's nothing to lose by attempting it and being the DP; typically the AmEx offer credits post fairly quickly, so you'll know in a few days after the transaction posts. Some places (especially restaurants) will post the transaction days later and sometimes with a different date, which will almost guarantee that the AmEx offer would trigger.

1

u/jojokikikween 3d ago

The one downside of trying it is that if it doesn’t work, you’ve lost the opportunity to use the offer on a different Amex card (assuming you have others and they show the same offer). I would definitely appreciate more DPs though!

Is there any DP on how to get the 100k referral pop-up for the Venture? My friend is trying to refer me, but only the 75k+$250 is showing up.

2

u/Original_Comfort6321 3d ago

No. The 100k is targeted referral and it is constantly changing but theres unfortunately no "trick" to get it to change to 100k. Previously someone shared in DoC to edit the link to change it to 100k but that loop has since closed and I've seen a DP or two of the referring person not getting the referral bonus this way too.

4

u/MoonEyedPeepers 3d ago

Not a helpful, DP, but P2 kept getting the 75k+$250 referral when they first tried - multiple links. Tried again a week later with one of the same referral links and got the 100k offer.

1

u/Beneficial-Board6959 3d ago

I want to apply for the CSP when my P2 can refer me around April 8th but I’ll be on vacation outside of the USA at that time. Anyone know if that will be a red flag for Chase if I apply when I’m outside of the USA or does that not matter? Thanks!

u/lenin1991 HOT, DOG 3d ago

I was auto approved while in Sweden. I'd think using a VPN would look worse to any reasonable security approach than someone applying for a travel card while traveling.

2

u/oklurkerthrowaway 3d ago

This data point might help. If not auto-approve, expect to go through extra steps

2

u/Kozmic420 3d ago

DP: I successfully referred P2 for a Chase Southwest card while we were in New Zealand

2

u/m16p SFO, SJC 3d ago

I had no issues applying for a Chase card while I was in the Caribbean ~7 years ago. Auto approved.

1

u/EarthlingMardiDraw 3d ago

It will very likely be a red flag, but not necessarily a complete block. If you can get a VPN set up and connect back to your general home area, that will likely help (Chase is pretty lenient with VPNs; other banks not so much). Alternatively, you may just need to call in to the fraud dept and tell them that it is a real, non-fraud application.

1

u/Apart_Zucchini2642 3d ago

yes, that will be flagged

Got a mailer for a BBP yesterday - 75k MR for $6k spend in 4m. I have the personal Plat 100k + 15x restaurants offer until July, and I just started churning a CIC for non-dining spend.

The mailer says the offer is good until 6/6, is there any reason not to just wait? Do these offers ever expire prematurely?

9

u/gt_ap 3d ago

Do these offers ever expire prematurely?

Yes.

1

u/crazyrichasian549 3d ago

Hyatt points expiring soon and I dont have any travel coming up. What's best way to extend expiry?

1

u/Unusual_Extent2505 3d ago

If you cannot use them…I can volunteer to take them off your hands.

Think even transferring thousand points should make those points current. Or just try a staycation at the Hyatt near you.

9

u/lost_shadow_knight 3d ago

Transfer points to/from Hyatt, to/from another Hyatt member, or buy points

3

u/mets2016 3d ago

Also Hyatt points don't expire for Hyatt credit card holders

Assuming someone has hit all the lifetime Amex offers, and can't get a new Ink (P1 or P2) for a minute, what card if any would you put a $30k payment on if it had a 2% ($600) fee to use a card? What perk, benefit, bonus, status etc in addition to regular points from a non-bonus-category/non-MSR spend that would be worth it to you?

There is a new SUB or two in the mix, but about $30k remaining spend.

3

u/digganut 3d ago

Do you have a Hilton Surpass or Aspire? You can get an uncapped free night with $15 or 30k spend depending on the card. Could exceed $600 in value.

1

u/EarthlingMardiDraw 3d ago

How is this different than "What Card Should I Get?" The responses also depend on if you can split the payment and into what chunks.

-1

u/imightbeaviking FOR, SHO 3d ago

Different in it's not chasing a SUB? The question is really based on non-points benefits. An example would be spending toward the $75k lounge guest access on a plat. It's not a big enough perk to be worth it, but it's an example.

Venture Biz SUB is great but have hit it already. Question poses other benefits of high business spend on a card.

If you think it would make a difference, it can split up to 8 ways. Simplicity is nice.

8

u/MyAltAccountIsuSpez 3d ago

$30k payment

This is exactly the SUB needed for the Venture X Business. And its unlimited 2x miles will cover the 2% fee.

2

u/SibylTech 3d ago

Except you’ll need to split the payment into 4 pieces (thanks to C1’s low internal spending limits) and whether that’s possible will depend on what u/imightbeaviking’s spending is on.

u/9kuss 3d ago

Can WF Signify be expedited? Searched churning.io but didn't find anything

5

u/Pajamas918 3d ago

doesn't hurt to call and ask (if you've already been approved)

u/ATF0PenUp 3d ago

Downgraded csp to OG Freedom 2 Months ago. I’ve now decided I want to upgrade this OG Freedom to CSR. Would Chase have an issue with me PCing again so soon? I currently already hold a CSR.

2

u/EarthlingMardiDraw 3d ago

Most likely not a problem, especially if you hold the CSR for at least a year. If you frequently PC at less than a year, that's when they get touchy.

There are multiple DPs from the past few years showing that it fails to meet the DD requirements (DP 1, DP 2, DP 3, DP 4). I would recommend trying a different method.

-1

u/PortofinoBoatRace 3d ago

In theory it really should given it’s an ACH distribution no different than a social security or income paycheck.
