Orcs are proud Albanians

If their mount was a car it would be Mercedes Benz.

Trying to comprehend what the fuck the top text is saying and suddenly realizing why the second panel has an Albanian flag.

Kargath is great because of location. Not aesthetics.

29

u/DjGranoLa 1d ago

And only if there's a mage hanging out selling ports.

u/Remidial 6h ago

The location brings lots of people tho. Free portals, locks, raiders getting ready, low levels catching up, bised characters afk. Stuff like this makes the world feel more alive. Love classic

Grammar checks out for a Classic player lol

u/Ardibanan 18h ago

I don't get the Albanian flag

Retail players bad, many complains, upvote left

68

u/Saked- 19h ago

It does feel like classic players hate on retail more than retail players hate on classic lmao

26

u/Heatinmyharbl 10h ago

It's literally the "I feel bad for you" "I don't even think about you" meme lol

47

u/SharkRaptor 17h ago

I run a fairly big guild on retail and no one even thinks about classic aside from occasionally checking it out when a version they like does an update (usually SoD)

14

u/Saked- 16h ago

yeah I have guildies/friends play classic when there's downtime in retail, mostly HC, it's chill.

Yes, retail players don't give a fk. They just play thr game and enjoy it. It's classic gamers who for some reason have to justify themselves playing an older version of the game, I guess.

u/Organic-Week-1779 4h ago

cause they think they do but they dont

6

u/Windred_Kindred 10h ago

Well retail has content even outside of instanced raiding so people are to busy

12

u/P1mK0ssible 13h ago

Thats because retail players are also busy hating on retail.

5

u/RyukaBuddy 11h ago

It's a garbage unplayable game. I say as I binge every single new patch.

u/Rhynocerous 56m ago

Yes, but classic players don't hate on retail as much as retail players hate on retail.

This is true on reddit, but not so much on other platforms. I remember when Shadowlands launched and ended up being really bad, tons of retail players on the official forums and a bunch of discord servers were explicitly blaming classic players for making their game worse because of developer priorities etc.

It got really, really nasty for a while.

u/SlushyBear7 10h ago

Tbf shadowlands was a miserable time. Retail is very different now

28

u/Darthok 1d ago

Shouldn't it be titled "retail vs classic player"? The images are in the opposite order.

OP is Australian

I hate the phrase "rent free" but it really does apply with classic players and retail lol

u/Zachee 4h ago

It stands to reason that part of this is that retail players are either too young to have played the original xpacs, or played them and decided that they like the direction WoW has taken. So classic isn't even a blip in their minds.

Classic players are overwhelmingly people who once played retail but either quit, or play less now, as they see it missing something that classic has. Their opinion of one game directly impacts the game they choose to play.

That's ignoring the subset of people who play and enjoy both though.

u/Jakcris10 4h ago

Yeah exactly! Classic only exists at all because people didn’t like retail and wanted to go back.

-17

u/Curtkid6 16h ago

Let's be real here, that's just a WoW player thing in general. I hate to be the "both sides" guy, but you'd be shocked how quick some players will jump to defend retail over the tiniest implication that maybe Classic WoW has some positives that retail doesn't.

I will say that Classic WoW players probably do it more, but I think that's because that version of the game doesn't get as much attention as retail does. In fact, I'd argue that the general animosity of Classic players towards Retail has actually gone down since SoD came out, but maybe that's just my perspective.

u/dkoom_tv 15h ago

After playing classic and retail for some while I'm gonna say it's def way more one sided than another....

21

u/Heatinmyharbl 10h ago

Anecdotal of course but I haven't seen anyone on retail in game or on r/wow even so much as mention classic in years

Meanwhile it's brought up nearly every day by classic players :v

I play and enjoy both

-1

u/Curtkid6 7h ago

The reddit community is far better about that,  I'll admit. It's the Twitter community that seems to do the bulk of the complaining, though, now that I think about it, that might be less of it being a WoW thing and more of it just Twitter being awful.

u/guitarerdood 5h ago

I have played a ton of both, enjoy them both, and in my experience classic players will take every opportunity to shit all over retail

Retail players literally don't even think about classic at all

8

u/Hottage 14h ago

I dunno man, Valdrakken and Dornogal have both been pretty well received aesthetically.

2

u/Omagga 5h ago

Yeah, people hated Oribos because it sucked ass in every way. Valdrakken and Dornogal are pretty good and I can't recall anyone complaining about them

u/Generic_Username_Pls 21h ago

RETAIL BAD CLASSIC GOOD HUEHUE

-14

u/phonylady 18h ago

It gets kinda tiresome. Same in the WoW subreddit, almost any positive comment about classic is downvoted.

6

u/Cultural_Sweet_2591 22h ago

The Albanian flag lol

5

u/ashrasmun 16h ago

as a vanilla played I always hated kargath. Middle eastern kingdoms has always been the most boring part of wow. it's just desolace but charred and bigger

1

u/valdis812 9h ago edited 3h ago

As strange as it may sound, I don't hate those zones. But for some reason, I absolutely can't stand Desolace.

1

u/Recknepsuwu 6h ago

i thought i liked Desolace. I have a lot of memories of leveling my original Alli char there back in the day but man, I did it on Horde this go around of HC and it has to be my least favorite zone in the game

3

u/arandomguy7891 23h ago

yeah i agree Kargath was about location. and about that 60 geared rogue ganking you in thr pass. both are ok

2

u/Luvs_to_drink 17h ago

Please... kargath sucks dick. You only set your hearth there because it's the closest one to mc and bwl. Nothing was more freeing then being able to drop that shit in aq40+ phase when your guild decides to no longer run bwl.

u/-Laffi- 16h ago

I thought bearded ladies were weird.

2

u/onetimenancy 10h ago

Talking about the earthen dwarves?

All female dwarves should the the option to have beards!

1

u/bigmangina 13h ago

Retail players do tend to be impressed with mud huts.

u/pupmaster 10h ago

A rare retail vs classic post that is actually funny
