Maybe you should actually read it , especially psalms and proverbs .. you’re basing it from a church perspective which is not what the Bible is meant to convey ..

Why always the assumption we don't? It's mandated for some, and usually includes way more books than the average Bible... What do you think makes them walk away and cut ties? Most Christians barely read it, which seems to be half of why it's still a dominant faith... As far as I can tell, lack of education is the biggest favor a church can have. The portion of actual, respectable Christians tend to realize how messed up soo much of that book is and opt for a gentler way of life.. While the sadists read a few pages, grab a bull horn and start the fires.

I don’t read it as a Christian .. I wasn’t raised Christian so I don’t believe in a magic sky daddy or any of that .. the New Testament is the teachings of Christ .. if you think those teachings are anything but how to live a gentle life you obviously haven’t read the Bible

Ah yes I'm sure that an atheist doesn't see the inherent issues with old or new testament, if your judging for a gentle life there are far more worthy candidates... Just as old.. Just as accessible. It's ignorance at best to think that, because others don't come to your conclusions, that they haven't studied something... Very Christian thinking.

So cute when you kids take things out of context

The writer did not intend to go out and kill babies; rather, he desired justice, which required the death of his enemies. Even today, those who have lost loved ones at the hands of others understandably desire the death of those who committed the crime.

Yeah not all. Don't twist justice by robbing us of our own feelings and views of suffering. You sure as hell do not speak for me.
