Work advice.

I've noticed a handful of people asking for work advice or people even looking to jump into work. Or try to figure out where to start.

I know it's a difficult world out there and finding work in this small ole town can be a hassle as well but I've found something that's pretty effective for me even till this day

Best piece of advice I can give is to jump into whatever work you can right away and build a resume and start writing down the skills that come along with the work you get into

I've gone around building my connections with people and befriending my old co-Workers and also asking my old bosses and co workers to be my references.

Usally if I quit a job or one lays me off.. cause we all know how it is around here being laid off its pretty common.

But me and a handful of people have a small network where if we know someone is good worker/Person we help them get a job where someone in our little network is.

Having alot of references gets you people's numbers and if they move on to a differnt job maybe some day you can catch up with them and see if where they are is hiring since they have already worked with you they can totally vouch for you and help you get your foot in the door.

It's sad to say but I truly feel like it's not about what you know anymore. It's about who you know.

Look at job postings at OSU, Samaritan Health Servjces, and the Corvallis School District since they are the largest employers.

I wouldn't recommend samaritan they are known for laying off their employees there's multiple cases going on rn against them

Plus Samaritan is bankrupt and about to shut down if they can't find a buyer.

I wouldn’t say getting fired is all that common?
