This feels like the start of a horror movie or Outlast spinoff in the best way

Where is this located? My guess is it’s the Dozier School (not a school at all even if there were classes) for Boys. Juvenile Detention Center between Marianna Florida and Panama City Florida, off of I-10? It was a house of horrors

Good. These systems were deeply flawed.

The one in my neck of the woods had a notorious, profligate pedofile working there who allegedly pimped out boys to influential people, including the then-premier.

Yeah New Hampshire is currently working through a backlog of 1300 SA claims with the first one just paid out at around $1m. These places turned into a nightmare world after dark.

North Carolina? If so, I’ve been there.

Near Charlotte, I forgot the name of the town. Was the Stonewall Jackson school. When I went, there were no fences at the grounds were not grown over.

I was less sure of the name of the school as well, so I wasn’t going to venture a town guess based on two unknowns.

I swear I went there in RDR2

I used to explore this place in high school and have lots of photos, including a room filled with church pews and pianos. very spooky place that committed horrible atrocities including sterilization of minors.

Dozier School for Boys. “The Nickle Boys,” by Colson Whitehead is also the novelization of the Dozier School for Boys. It was a real juvenile detention center where mass graves were discovered by USF anthropology students who wanted to see if they could learn the truth about the atrocities committed at the detention center. They learned more than the bargained for. I lived about 50 miles from there.

That is the former Stonewall Jackson Juvenile Detention Center in Concord, NC, just outside of Charlotte. The new facility is behind it, Cabbarus Youth Development Center.

Please don’t go in there; it’s contaminated with asbestos.

Stonewall Jackson? I live right near there. Drive past it a lot. Super creepy looking with lots of buildings like this.
