Best state to live?

I'm planning on moving. i'm disabled with mild CP and honestly just thinking about taking a one way bus trip somewhere. Where's the best state to live for wheelchair bound people like me?

yep, the people moving in and exploding the population (esp of eight wing people) made it way worse.

I live in the DC Metro area and use a power wheelchair. I took public transit for 2 years before I got my wheelchair van and it is completely usable every Bus and train is usable. Buses are great but busy stops are hit or miss for paving quality

The states with the best disability services are Colorado, Massachusetts, and Minnesota. Next tier down is California, New York, New Jersey, and the other East Coast states. Washington, DC has excellent public transportation, and you might do OK with services in Maryland or Virginia.

Stay far away from Texas, Florida, and Mississippi: they all have the worst services with the longest waiting lists.

If I were you, I would go to Colorado because it has the best services with much better weather than the other top-tier states. But it really depends on what type of services you need. As someone who needs personal care, if I lost what I have now, I would have to go to Colorado because it’s the only place where I could reliably get the support I need. But if you don’t need a lot of personal care/home help, the east coast has better public transportation.

Also, if you’re serious about a one-way ticket, try to do Amtrak instead because I’ve heard nothing but terrifying things about Greyhound.

Arizona is really flat, with (mostly) consistent weather and a decent lightrail system in Phoenix. I kinda hate living here, but I can't disagree its been good for my physical health

Berkeley CA is pretty good , the Center for Independent Living is a good place to access resources. https://thecil.org/

Before you leave, make sure to check prices on Amtrak as greyhound is not as good as it used to be.

Not sure about wheelchairs specifically, but I know Ohio has great public transit and a low cost of living! Wishing you the best of luck!
