Practising shapes, any tips for shading ?

Use different graded pencils to give more depth. Look at reference photos and study where the light hits and how it wraps around the object. Also looking at, and copying greyscale strips will help with ur understanding of the value differences. but most importantly practiceeeee

Get those shapes from a store. Or gind an object that looks like it. Find a light or something. And look at how the light actually works and shapes around the object, i always found useing pen first when practicing really helps, because pencil isnt the same. Your more concerned with how you draw then normally because you cant just erase it.

Ohh thanks but I think I'll keep with pencil but yeah I'll see with different objects and lighting and stuff cheers

Practise from life drawing. Get an object and set up a lamp next to it. Keep practising.

By tips for shading, I mean like I was asking how do I shade 3d objects, yeah ... I don't know why I'm explaining the obvious
